With a production budget of $60 million, the sci-fi film Mercy needed to earn between $120 and $150 million worldwide just to cover its costs. Unfortunately, it didn’t reach that goal and lost the studio a significant amount of money. Poor reviews likely contributed to its box office failure; Mercy currently has a dismal 25% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Many people probably didn’t go to see the movie in theaters, but now that it’s streaming on Prime Video, it’s gaining a following. As of today, viewers have given Mercy an impressive 83% audience score.
