Avengers: Doomsday spoilers follow.
The first official trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday is here, and it’s full of exciting moments and a huge number of characters. The trailer ends with the highly anticipated return of Chris Evans as Captain America.
He looks a bit rough around the edges, but he’s clearly not the elderly man we saw at the end of Endgame. It makes you wonder what’s been happening with him.

Yesterday at CinemaCon (April 16th), Chris Evans appeared on stage after a first look at the trailer – which is currently only available to those attending the event. He didn’t reveal how he returned to the role, but he did explain why he decided to come back.
I previously stated I’d only return if there was a compelling reason, and in Doomsday, there absolutely is – these heroes genuinely need Steve Rogers,” he explained in a TikTok post.

He explained that it’s been 15 years since he and Robert Downey Jr. first started acting opposite each other as these characters – Tony Stark and Iron Man. They’ve played both allies and opponents, sometimes even fighting on the same side.
Commenting on Robert Downey Jr.’s casting as Doctor Doom, Chris Evans jokingly said, “Downey, I love you, but this character… I just don’t like him.”
Downey’s comment sparked immediate tension, and Evans confronted him, repeating their previous conflict. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo quickly intervened, separating the two and reminding them to resolve their issues during filming.

IGN was among the media outlets at CinemaCon who previewed the trailer, describing it as both amazing and magical.
The trailer opens with Charles Xavier, played by Patrick Stewart, at the X-Mansion, watching a bright light in the sky while a foreboding voice speaks.
Shang-Chi battles Gambit, and Mystique betrays Yelena. The Fantastic Four team up with both the Avengers and the Thunderbolts, eventually meeting the people of Wakanda. Meanwhile, Ant-Man shares a sweet moment with his daughter, Cassie, giving her a kiss on the head.
The trailer concludes with Thor unsuccessfully attacking Doctor Doom using Stormbreaker. Just then, Steve Rogers appears and unexpectedly summons Mjolnir.
Avengers: Doomsday is released in cinemas on 18 December.
