Margot Robbie turned heads at the UK premiere of Wuthering Heights on Thursday, continuing her streak of stunning and daring historical outfits.
The actress has been wearing clothes inspired by Georgian fashion to promote her upcoming movie, where she plays the strong-willed character Catherine Earnshaw. The film is an adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic novel, directed by Emerald Fennell.
Margot made a bold statement on the black carpet, wearing a see-through dress with a corset inspired by Victorian fashion and accented with green knotted details.
The dress worn by the Barbie actress highlighted her figure with its close-fitting, see-through skirt and flowing train.
Margot and Jacob Elordi appear together in a steamy new romance movie that will be released on February 13th, perfectly timed for Valentine’s Day.
Jacob looked sharp in a dark green suit as he joined his co-star on the red carpet and posed for photos.
Charli XCX turned heads at the UK premiere of Wuthering Heights on Thursday, arriving in a striking pink dress and veil that resembled a wedding gown.
The popular musician wrote the music for Emerald Fennell’s new film version of Emily Bronte’s classic novel, and also attended the film’s premiere before it comes out on February 13th.
Inspired by the strong and emotional Catherine Earnshaw, Charlie made an entrance wearing a soft pink dress and a veil, as if preparing for a wedding.
The actress from Brat took photos on the wet black carpet, and her outfit matched the dark, dramatic style of her new movie.
Emerald Fennell, known for her previous success with the film Saltburn, wore a red corset dress that matched the historical style of her new movie.
Emerald complemented Margot’s stunning accessories with a beautiful blue opal necklace.
Similar to Charli, Margot Robbie has embraced the historical fashion of her new film during recent appearances. Her outfits have been inspired by the movie’s Georgian period setting and the 1847 novel it’s based on.
The new film stars the actress as Catherine Earnshaw and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff. Recently, the connection between the two actors off-camera has been getting as much attention as the romance their characters share on screen.
Robbie recently shared that she enjoyed the movie’s dramatic ups and downs, and noted that her character cries throughout almost every scene.
When asked about how she approaches romantic scenes, she explained to PEOPLE that she doesn’t change her preparation process. She said the film itself requires a lot from everyone involved.
My character is often crying throughout the show, but it was actually a really fun role to play. I enjoyed portraying someone who experiences such intense and rapid shifts in emotion.
Emerald Fennell, the 40-year-old writer and director of the new movie, made sure to prioritize the safety, trust, and well-being of everyone involved while filming its intimate scenes.
Fennell, who also directed Elordi in Saltburn, explained that her priority is always making sure everyone on set feels comfortable and that they all trust each other. They aim to keep things lighthearted and laugh off any awkwardness.
Love scenes aren’t really different from any other scene. We treat them like any other, focusing on the emotions involved.
Fennell shared that she thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Robbie on her most recent film.
She said: ‘Do you know what? She’s an inspiration. She’s an extraordinary woman.
As someone who looks at what makes people truly shine, let me tell you, she really embodies it all. She’s not just a fantastic actress and a successful producer, she’s also a mom, and through it all, she’s incredibly kind and giving to everyone she meets. Honestly, that combination is what makes her truly exceptional – she’s simply the best!
Although the movie isn’t released until February 13th, early ticket sales look promising, suggesting it could earn between $30 and $35 million domestically during its opening weekend.
Oh my gosh, if ‘Wuthering Heights’ does well, it’ll be HUGE for Jacob! Like, the biggest opening weekend of his entire career! And for Margot? It’s been a while since she had a massive hit like ‘Barbie’ did last year, so this could be her comeback moment! I’m already counting down the days!
The movie Barbie, starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and with a cameo by Emerald Fennell as Midge, spent a remarkable $150 million on marketing.
The Barbie movie’s marketing campaign was massive, including a highly visible, bright pink Malibu Barbie DreamHouse available to rent on Airbnb. It also featured a four-part special on HGTV, and over 100 brands partnered to create Barbie-themed clothing and products.
Wuthering Heights will go on general release from February 13.
