Channel Seven star shares devastating family loss: ‘Hurt, devastation, anxiety, disbelief and grief’

Casey Treloar, the weather presenter for Channel Seven News, has publicly shared her sadness after experiencing her third miscarriage in the last six months.

The TV personality from Adelaide shared a black-and-white photo on Instagram showing her in a hospital bed, looking out the window. In the caption, she talked about how much pain she was in.

She started by saying that although her life seemed good on the outside recently, she hadn’t been feeling that way inside.

I began a new job at 7NEWS yesterday, which I’m really excited about. However, it’s been a very difficult time personally. Today, I had surgery related to my third miscarriage. We’ve experienced this heartbreaking loss three times in the last six months.

She explained that she and her fiancé, Sam Ennis, were deeply upset and trying to come to terms with their loss.

Casey described a whirlwind of difficult feelings – hurt, devastation, anxiety, disbelief, and grief – saying it’s been a confusing and overwhelming experience.

‘We truly believed this time around would result in our first baby. But it wasn’t meant to be.’

She concluded by expressing their continued hope for a pregnancy and shared that the couple remain optimistic about what’s to come.

I’ve been sharing my experience with this difficult loss, and I’ll keep doing so to let anyone else going through something similar know they aren’t alone. Losing a pregnancy is often a silent struggle, but if you’re experiencing it, please know that we acknowledge your pain and you’re not invisible.

We understand this kind of grief is deeply personal and often unseen. Please be patient with us as we heal, and know that we believe brighter days are ahead.

Many of Casey’s celebrity friends took to the comments section to offer their sympathies.

‘I’m so sorry. Sending you so much love xxx,’ wrote Olivia Molly Rogers.

Sending you lots of love, Casey. It’s a heartbreaking experience that no one should have to go through, but sadly, many people do. I’m so sorry you’ve had to face this so often, but brighter days are ahead for you,” said Laura Sharrad, winner of MasterChef Australia.

Casey recently began working as the weather presenter in Adelaide, succeeding Amelia Mulcahy.

Taking on this role is a big challenge. Amelia did a fantastic job for twelve years, so I have a lot to live up to,” Casey explained in a statement.

‘I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running.’

She joined Seven Adelaide in April 2019 and has since worked as both an on-air presenter and behind-the-scenes producer.

In June 2024, Casey announced her engagement to her long-time partner Sam Ennis.
