Channel Seven hire controversial NRL star to present rugby league segment - following network axing bloodbath

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must admit that I find the recent hiring decisions by Channel Seven quite intriguing. On one hand, I applaud their willingness to take risks and experiment with new talent, such as the addition of comedian Mark Humphries and the legendary rugby league player Willie Mason.

The contentious former NRL player, Willie Mason, has secured a job with Channel Seven, where he will host a rugby league segment on their 6 pm Friday news broadcast.

A well-known former player from the Canterbury Bulldogs, aged 44, is currently developing an episode preview for the network titled “Every Team, Every Night.” This show is scheduled to air later in the current year.

Mason is a renowned rugby league player who’s equally famous for his off-pitch exploits as he is for his remarkable on-field accomplishments, such as participating in the 2004 Grand Final.

The athlete who hails from New Zealand is set to team up with a refreshed crew, which also includes the comedian Mark Humphries from Sydney, as part of their group.

Throughout my admiration of his extraordinary career, I’ve often found myself discussing Mason’s unconventional behavior off the field, which has frequently grabbed headlines for stirring up a bit of controversy.

As someone who has spent many years working as a law enforcement officer, I have seen it all – the good, the bad, and the downright bizarre. One incident that stands out in my mind is the time I had to deal with a rowdy individual who was causing a scene in public. This man was caught urinating in broad daylight, and when he saw me approaching, he took off running from a taxi in an attempt to avoid paying the fare. It’s incidents like these that remind me of the importance of upholding law and order in our society, and the challenges that come with enforcing it. The life experience has taught me that no two days are ever the same when you’re on the job, and you have to be prepared for anything.

In 2000, Mason embarked on his National Rugby League (NRL) journey with the Bulldogs, and went on to play for six more clubs. He hung up his cleats in 2016 after a long and varied career in the sport.

According to recent reports, Seven is reportedly undergoing a significant cost reduction phase within its news division due to changes in management.

More recently, prominent figures like Robert Ovadia, Andrew Frampton, and the ‘Harvester of Sorrow’, Melbourne crime reporter Cameron Baud, have joined our network. Known for his dark beat, Cameron Baud is fondly referred to as ‘the Harvester of Sorrow’ by his friends.

Longtime news broadcaster Sharyn Ghidella was likewise let go from the network, following nearly four decades of service in the broadcasting field.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share my candid thoughts on a recent change made by a popular network. To put it simply, their revamp of the news programming doesn’t resonate with me personally.

The dramatic changes see comedian Mark Humphries crack gags at the week’s news.

The program also now includes an astrology report.

Viewers were divided over Humphries debut, with many sharing their thoughts on social media.

‘You’ve sacked Sharyn Ghidella and now at the end of the news you have a very unfunny, stupid, moronic idiot on!’ wrote one viewer.

On the social media site once called Twitter, they expressed that they would no longer tune into Seven News.
