Okay, huge spoiler warning for anyone watching FBI Season 8, Episode 11, “Confetti”! As a big fan of the FBI universe, I was really glad to see the latest episode because it actually managed to smooth over what I thought was a pretty rough exit for a character on FBI: Most Wanted. It’s been a while – since December, actually – since CBS had new episodes of these shows, which is a bit unusual for them. They usually space out breaks more evenly. But thankfully, the wait is over, and FBI Season 8 is back with a new episode, and it felt good to jump back in!
CBS is giving fans of the FBI franchise a treat after the long winter break with a special episode. Season 8, episode 11, titled “Confetti,” features a case that’s a bit different from the show’s usual investigations. Shantel VanSanten returns as Nina, joining forces with her former colleagues from the New York Field Office to tackle a challenging situation. Fans haven’t seen Nina on screen since the FBI: Most Wanted finale almost a year ago, which wrapped up that series well for everyone except one character.
Nina Had The Most Boring Ending Story On FBI: Most Wanted Finale
The series finale of FBI: Most Wanted saw Remy retire and Barnes become the new leader. While the rest of the team remained largely the same, each member experienced a positive personal outcome. Hana shared the good news that Ethan had completed rehab and they planned to start a life together, and Ray and Cora were expecting a baby.
Nina was the only character on FBI: Most Wanted who didn’t experience significant growth throughout the season. While she did reconcile with her father after he inquired about her relationship with Scola, it felt like a minor storyline for a character’s departure, considering the complex arcs of her colleagues. Despite a generally satisfying season finale, Nina’s storyline felt underdeveloped. Now, CBS is revisiting that plotline.

When FBI season 8 returned, Nina reached out to her former team for help after her undercover operation hit a snag. Jubal’s agents stepped in to fix the mistake and crack the case, and it was great to see Nina back in action. However, the real focus of the episode, “Confetti,” wasn’t the case itself—it was Nina and Scola finally getting married. The wedding was heavily featured in the show’s promotional materials for its 2026 return, so while heartwarming, it wasn’t a surprise.
Despite any challenges, this is still a significant moment for the show. Season 8 of FBI has been emotionally intense, with the New York team successfully solving every case while also facing personal setbacks. This personal victory is a welcome change of pace, and it’s especially satisfying considering the lack of a proper send-off for Nina on FBI: Most Wanted.
Changing Nina’s mind about marriage right away in the FBI: Most Wanted finale would have likely upset viewers, as it would have felt like the show was contradicting a firm decision she’d already made. However, the FBI series should have still given her a significant positive moment before the season ended. Now, with some time having passed, it’s easier to enjoy the idea of Nina and Scola getting married.
