Catherine O’Hara’s shock death at 71 leads The Studio to abruptly drop press day event

The promotional event for The Studio, planned for Tuesday, has been canceled following the death of actress Catherine O’Hara on Friday. O’Hara was known for her role as Patty Leigh in the Apple TV series.

According to Deadline, Seth Rogen, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Hahn, and Chase Sui Wonders were expected to be at the event held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Eugene O’Hara, however, wasn’t on the guest list.

The cast released a joint statement expressing their deep sadness after the death of Catherine O’Hara, the Emmy-winning actress, who passed away at age 71. They said they were heartbroken by the loss of their friend.

We all admired her greatly and felt lucky to have worked with her. She had a wonderful way of being both sophisticated, kind, and funny. We are heartbroken by her passing and offer our sincere condolences to Bo and her entire family.

Seth Rogen, one of the creators of ‘The Studio,’ shared that John Hughes’ ‘Home Alone’ inspired him to become a filmmaker.

He recalled telling O’Hara when they first met that he considered her the funniest person he’d ever seen perform.

Working with her was a real privilege. She was incredibly funny, warm, insightful, and giving – she inspired me to make our show the best it could be, because she deserved to be a part of something special.

Honestly, hearing about my friend and colleague’s passing was just heartbreaking. It’s a reminder to cherish everyone we meet, because we’re all so fortunate to have shared the same space with her. She truly made the world a brighter place.

Ike Barinholtz said working with the late actress was a career milestone he’ll forever cherish.

Honestly, I still can’t believe it even happened – getting to work with Catherine O’Hara, and then actually becoming friends with her! It feels like a dream. I’m just completely heartbroken that she’s gone, it’s like a huge piece of my world is missing.

‘So incredibly grateful I got to spend the time I did with her. Thank you, Catherine. I love you.’

Macaulay Culkin, known for his role in Home Alone, shared a heartfelt message online after the passing of a fellow actor. He wrote, ‘Mom, I believed we’d have more time together. I was hoping for more.’

I longed to be near you, and I did hear what you said. But there was so much left unsaid, so much I wanted to tell you. I love you, and I’ll see you again soon.

Apple and Lionsgate shared a statement expressing their deep sadness over the death of the actress, best known for her roles in Home Alone and Schitt’s Creek.

After O’Hara’s death, a statement described her as a true legend, an icon, and a uniquely gifted performer.
