Prime Video has greenlit a series based on the popular book Fourth Wing. Michael B. Jordan announced the news at Amazon’s upfront presentation on Monday, where he also revealed his role as an executive producer. Joining him were fellow executive producer Lisa Joy, showrunner Meredith Averill, and the book’s author, Rebecca Yarros. Jordan’s Outlier Society is producing the series alongside Kilter Films (from Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy) and Premeditated Productions.

Despite being a strong show with a lot to offer, it hasn’t yet received the widespread recognition it deserves, especially when compared to other popular AMC series. You can now pre-order Avatar: Fire and Ash, which will be available to rent or buy digitally starting May 19th. FlixPatrol reports the movie is already the third most popular download on Prime Video globally, and the number one download in the U.S. This digital release likely means it will soon be available to stream on Disney+ as well.

I’m a huge anime fan, and it’s honestly a little heartbreaking that so many amazing ’80s shows and movies are fading from memory! Even with all the streaming options we have now, there’s a real risk of losing these classics. The huge success of Game of Thrones really changed fantasy TV. Before that show, traditional fantasy was much more common, and darker, grittier fantasy was more of a niche interest. But Game of Thrones flipped that around. Personally, I tend to prefer these darker, more cynical fantasy shows, although I do enjoy a lighthearted fantasy story now and then. I know, though, that a lot of people feel the opposite way.
