Avowed’s Magic Redefines Fantasy RPGs Forever

In comparison to other RPGs with spellcasting, Avowed takes its magic combat to a higher dimension. While many games in this genre have more potent or flashy magic combat, what sets Avowed apart is not just that, but also the mechanical depth it offers. Players aren’t only able to utilize magic to alter the game environment, but they can also wield two distinct magical tools and weapons simultaneously. Each tool and weapon has unique traits, ensuring that the magic combat in Avowed remains varied at all times.

Capcom Has Achieved The Impossible And Made Arkveld Adorable Via Its New Range Of Monster Hunter Wilds Plushes

Capcom effectively counted down to the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds by releasing plush versions of its in-game creations throughout 2024. Now that Wilds is, well, in the wild, it hasn’t hung around when it comes to turning some of the newest monsters introduced to the series via the latest installment into soft toys to go along with the influx of plushes released throughout the last 12 months.

How to Open the Sand Sea Ruins Secret Door in Avowed

At the end of the Sand Sea Ruins dungeon, right after beating a ferocious bear and escaping more deadly traps, you will finally come across the Heart of the Leviathan resting on an altar. Your quest objective will update, asking you to return to Keipo with the Heart of the Leviathan. Take the item, but do not exit the dungeon just yet, or you will lose the chance to obtain a unique armor set in Avowed.

A Monster Hunter For Everyone Isn’t For Anyone

Part of that is undoubtedly the streamlined approach. While there’s still a mess of alerts and markers that don’t fully make sense to me every time I turn the game on, I feel like I’m hanging in there despite everything. I know, just about, what I’m meant to do next. And I can do it. Just about. That’s more than I could say for my previous two attempts at the series, and I expect to see this one through to the end, even if the end for me is the first set of credits rolling. But at times, I wonder if I’m even playing the game at all.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is apparently taking inspiration from Elden Ring and could be a new direction for Naughty Dog

Ben Hanson, formerly of Game Informer, shares a tidbit in a new MinnMax video (shared to Reddit and spotted by TheGamer) about Intergalactic. He says, “At some point on the podcast a while ago, before the reveal trailer happened, I teased that idea of, like, ‘I’ve heard Naughty Dog’s next game is very inspired by a game with a lot of player freedom.'”

Steam Deck users enjoy Monster Hunter Wilds at sub-30 FPS

For performance purists in the audience, myself included, it may be downright unthinkable to play a game as ridiculously unoptimized as Monster Hunter Wilds on the Deck, but that’s not stopping the community from enjoying the experience regardless. According to Valve’s own list of the most popular games on the Steam Deck, Monster Hunter Wilds is hovering around the number 10 spot over the past month. Over on the Steam Deck subreddit, some users are about as perplexed as I am, asking what settings could people possibly be playing the game at for it to maintain a reasonable frame rate. With that in mind, I don’t think there’s anything “reasonable” about it. As Redditor NoxinDev puts it, “Crystal clear and smooth locked 10 fps (maybe a few dips) – Don’t knock it until you try it.” Sounds about right.

A new Patreon post from Yui highlights the upcoming mod, detailing some of the features that fans can expect, including everything from no multiplayer boundaries to PvP invasions, and generally allowing friends to play through the whole game together without restrictions (rather than being kicked out of a session after defeating a boss, for example).

New Monster Hunter Wilds Theory May Have Revealed The Origins Of Zoh Shia

Monster Hunter Wilds is one of the most lore-rich titles in the entire Monster Hunter series. While the title is perceived as being easier than its predecessors, the handler Alma makes things feel real, Wyvern Milk was added to explain certain situations, and we finally found out more about the Artian equipment and the series’ post-apocalyptic setting. Stuff like this, the game’s director says, is what keeps players coming back to the series.

While Elden Ring shares many design elements with Dark Souls, the leaked detail that a boss from the iconic franchise will appear in Nightreign marks an exciting move into new territory for the studio.
