The unveiling of the Switch 2 is quite striking, as it seems to be making a strong claim, aiming to demonstrate that it belongs among the top-tier gaming systems. The eagerly anticipated first significant update for Monster Hunter Wilds, known as Title Update 1 (TU1), is almost here! With a file size ranging from 6 to 10 GB, depending on the platform, this update is bursting with balance adjustments, a rotating weekly event schedule, and an abundance of fresh content.

Unexpectedly, what nobody foresaw was a double announcement from FromSoftware. The initial announcement unveiled their upcoming multiplayer game titled “The Duskbloods,” details of which remain scarce. Yet, another surprise came when they announced that Elden Ring will be available on the Switch 2 as the Tarnished Edition, bundled with additional cosmetics.

Soulslike games often require a significant investment of time, usually ranging from 30 to 60 hours per playthrough, depending on the player’s skill and the necessity to replay specific sections. However, what typically takes even longer is perfecting a build by grinding for resources and searching for hard-to-find equipment pieces. The game The First Berserker: Khazan emphasizes this aspect with its gear drops and loot rarity. A single playthrough of the main story in Khazan generally aligns with the duration of other Soulslikes, but dedicating time to a completionist playthrough can stretch that length into what is usually reserved for games with more complex mechanics within the subgenre.

Monster Hunter primarily focuses on teamwork, but it also offers an opportunity for competitive players through Arena Quests. Unlike regular hunts, these challenges present a situation where all participants use fixed equipment loadouts to battle the target monster. This ensures fairness among players, allowing them to display their proficiency by achieving the quickest kill time.

It’s worth noting that an additional surprise lies in the fact that The Duskbloods will only be available on the Nintendo Switch 2, set to release in 2026.
