As an analyst, I’ve been tracking Cash Cat (CASHCAT), a meme coin that gained a lot of attention when the Robinhood Chain launched. Recently, though, it’s experienced a significant downturn. After hitting its peak, the price has dropped around 75 to 77%. It briefly reached a $200 million market cap in mid-July, but now it’s trading around $0.052 to $0.053, bringing its market cap down to about $52 million.

The recent steep drop in value is leading to discussions within the crypto community about whether the surge of popularity for meme coins, fueled by the launch of Robinhood’s new network, is coming to an end.
Robinhood Chain launched its public network around July 1, 2026, initially intended to support digital versions of real-world assets and decentralized financial services. However, it quickly became popular for trading speculative “meme” tokens, with CASHCAT becoming the most prominent one.
The cryptocurrency, playfully nicknamed “Cash Cat” after a rumored early idea for Robinhood’s branding, quickly became popular due to a compelling story, comments from its creators, and a fast-growing community. This led to massive gains – thousands of percent – for those who invested early, within the first two weeks.
Cashcat’s Sharp Correction Amid Cooling Hype
CASHCAT hit its highest price of around $0.226 to $0.229 on July 11, 2026, but then the price quickly dropped as people started selling. This pattern – a rapid increase followed by a significant fall – is typical for meme coins like CASHCAT.
The token is currently being traded between $5 and $10 million each day, mainly on Uniswap V3 and V4 within the Robinhood Chain ecosystem. It’s also available on larger cryptocurrency exchanges like KuCoin and MEXC.
The popular “Robinhood Chain” group of meme coins has seen its value decrease recently. Data from CoinGecko shows the total worth of these coins was around $152 million on July 24th, a drop from previous highs where one coin, CASHCAT, made up a significant portion of a $220–233 million market.
Although CASHCAT still holds the largest share of the market – around a third – the recent decrease is likely due to people cashing in profits after its initial rapid growth, and a general slowdown in early excitement.
This price adjustment aligns with observations of slowing activity on launchpads and the usual decline in interest after a new cryptocurrency chain experiences a quick surge in value.
Broader Ecosystem Activity Suggests Season Not Fully Over
Even though the value of CASHCAT has decreased, the Robinhood Chain is still performing well based on its underlying data. Currently, around $318 million is invested in decentralized finance (DeFi) on the chain, with even more value bridged from other networks. Since its launch, the network has consistently had hundreds of thousands of daily users and billions of dollars in trading volume on its decentralized exchanges (DEXs). Notably, meme coins have driven a large portion – typically 80-85% – of trading activity on the chain, playing a key role in its initial growth.
Other cryptocurrencies are also experiencing significant price increases. For example, TENDIES has risen sharply by around 60% in the last day, and some smaller coins have even seen gains of over 100%, suggesting that people are still actively speculating on these digital assets.
Memes inspired by Robinhood, like ‘Cash Dog in Hood’ and ‘Little John,’ are still actively being traded and have a dedicated online following. New cryptocurrency tokens are constantly being released, and the underlying technology – including platforms like Uniswap and wallet connections – allows for continued innovation and testing.
It’s important to understand the difference between a short-term price surge (like a parabolic wave) and the overall lifespan of a popular meme trend. Robinhood Chain is very new – only a few weeks old – and it’s still building out its core features like tokenized stocks and real-world assets. However, the initial excitement from memes has already had a significant impact on how much trading activity there is, how many users are joining, and what people are talking about. Whether we’ll see another surge in popularity will depend on new developments, consistent trading volume, and the overall health of the market.
