Carol Vorderman quits radio show after hospital stay
As a long-time fan and admirer of Carol Vorderman, this news has left me feeling a mix of emotions. On one hand, I’m deeply concerned about her health and wellbeing, given her relentless work ethic over the years. It’s a stark reminder that even superheroes need to rest and take care of themselves.
Carol Vorderman has announced that she has quit her LBC radio show.
Since the beginning of this year, the renowned math whiz, podcaster trivia expert, and iconic “Countdown” figure has been hosting a program on the station, marking her move after parting ways with the BBC towards the close of 2023.
Meanwhile, in a fresh Instagram update, she disclosed that a recent hospital stay prompted her to scale down her workload, including her radio program.
“Hello, I’ve got some news to share with you,” she wrote in the caption.
For years, I’ve been working 7-day weeks without a break, but two weeks back, I hit my limit and suffered a burnout, leading to an unexpected hospital stay. Fortunately, extensive tests and examinations revealed no underlying health problems in me at all.
As a gamer speaking, “Following some heartfelt conversations with my family and friends, I’ve realized the need for a bit of a slowdown due to a recent health scare. Consequently, I’m reducing my workload by not working on Sundays anymore, which means I won’t be hosting my show on @LBC on those days. It’s tough to make this change, but it’s necessary for my well-being.
I find myself disappointed that I must take this action, as the program has been quite entertaining and an absolute pleasure, with numerous callers joining in from various regions and a steadily increasing audience. Fortunately, I will continue to be associated with the LBC family (they’re a wonderful group) occasionally – so stay tuned for further updates.
In the meantime, I’ll keep stirring things up and still tune in to LBC. Once more, I appreciate your exceptional backing, and to everyone at LBC, especially my new pals – you’re fantastic!
I will persistently expose corruption and unjust actions, though the pace might slow down a bit. For now, let’s call it a somewhat calmer period. Take care!
In the video attached to the post, she mentioned that it was a challenging choice she had to make, yet she found no alternative paths.
Vanessa Feltz is presenting Carol’s 3pm show today.
