Ah, the sweet smell of progress-or is it? In August, Cardano Midnight, the oh-so-privacy-conscious sidechain of the Cardano ecosystem, embarked on a journey to distribute the NIGHT token. But not just any token! This gem was aimed at users-or wallets-that were hoarding at least $100 worth of crypto across eight prestigious blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Cardano, Avalanche, XRP Ledger, or Brave, as of a oh-so-carefully taken snapshot on June 11th. 🍀
And what happened next? Well, after the distribution launched, a nasty little problem reared its ugly head for Bitcoin claims made through Ledger devices. Midnight, with its usual grace, quickly acknowledged the glitch and promised to update the world once the issue was solved. 😏
What was this catastrophe, you ask? Some Bitcoin accounts-bless their hearts-found themselves receiving a charming error message: “no eligible addresses found or not all eligible addresses are recognized.” Ah, the thrills of technology! 😆
But hold your horses-Midnight wasn’t about to let this error remain the center of attention for too long. In an update that has sent ripples through the crypto world, they announced that the issue with Ledger devices affecting Bitcoin claims had been… resolved! 🎉
📢 NOW SOLVED: Update on complexity issue with Ledger devices affecting Bitcoin claims.
Glacier Drop participants can now claim for all eligible Bitcoin addresses managed by the same Ledger wallet.
Previously, when trying to make a claim based on multiple eligible Bitcoin addresses…

Yes, yes, the drama is over. Initially, when trying to make a claim with multiple eligible Bitcoin addresses linked to the same Ledger-managed wallet, the system would only recognize the first address it laid eyes on. Classic case of favoritism, right? 😂 Now, however, all eligible Bitcoin addresses tied to the same Ledger wallet are eligible for claims. One small step for Ledger, one giant leap for Bitcoin-kind!
And if you’re wondering, there’s a catch (because, of course, there is)-for those with multiple eligible Bitcoin addresses connected to a Ledger device, you must make a separate claim for each one. Oh, the joys of meticulousness! 😅
Cardano: The Smart Contract Security Rethink
But wait-what’s this? Cardano’s Input Output is now, apparently, reconsidering smart contract security. I know, I know. Why change something that already works, right? 😜
Well, in a stunning move, Cardano developers revealed they are working on a set of magical tools (well, tools that are “progressive” in 2025-speak) that will supposedly support a “holistic” and “comprehensive” lifecycle for Cardano development. Trust me, the world was waiting for this! 😏
These tools will be released gradually throughout 2025, with formal verification targeting Plinth first, before expanding to Aiken and other smart contract languages. Because why settle for one when you can have several, right? 🤷♂️
And to make sure no one gets left behind, each release will come with detailed documentation and examples. So, for all you Cardano developers out there, brush off those cobwebs! The future’s so bright, you’ll need shades. 😎
