Capcom Cancels Lecture On Monster Hunter Wilds’ Optimization, Amid Harassment Concerns

At the CEDEC 2025 conference in Japan, scheduled for 2025, a discussion on improving Monster Hunter Wilds by Capcom was called off due to worries about harassment and threats directed at their team members related to Monster Hunter Wilds.

According to reports, Capcom had planned to conduct a discussion at the Computer Entertainment Developers Conference in Japan, focusing on performance optimization related to Monster Hunter World. The session was expected to delve into aspects such as managing CPU and GPU loads, as well as efficient memory utilization.

There hasn’t been an explanation for the cancellation yet, but there’s been a lot of talk about whether it could be linked to the harassment faced by developers concerning Monster Hunter Wilds. The PC version of Wilds has received a significant amount of criticism since its launch, leading Capcom’s team to promise improvements and updates.

After the unveiling of Update 2, it was anticipated that the issues would be resolved. However, the outcomes appeared mixed, leading Capcom to issue a statement via Twitter/X, addressing numerous significant bugs and problems.

Despite the ongoing situation, Capcom has taken notice of intense feedback and released a statement on their official site addressing it. As stated by Automaton, Capcom acknowledged instances of online harassment directed towards their staff through social media platforms and customer service channels, even threats aimed at specific individuals. Reportedly, the company has vowed to take legal action in serious cases of employee harassment.

Although no specific explanation was provided for cancelling the lecture, the sequence of events seems to imply that issues related to harassment may have been involved. It’s also important to note that constructive criticism and feedback are valuable, but taking things to an excessive level does more harm than good, and definitely won’t help in refining Monster Hunter Wilds.

Regarding Wilds itself, the latest Title Update 2 has been released, and it appears that players are quite delighted with the introduction of numerous fresh hunts. Particularly, the battle against Lagiacrus is receiving a lot of attention from them.
