Buenos Aires: Crypto or Bust?! 🤪

Oy vey! Buenos Aires, you say? They’re tryin’ to be a crypto hub! A hub! Like it’s some kinda… bagel shop! They’re lettin’ folks pay their taxes with this… *digital money*. Modernizin’, they call it. Modernizin’! We were perfectly happy with pesos! Perfectly happy! 🙄

Buenos Aires Wants to Be King of Crypto (Seriously?)

So now even the cities are gettin’ in on this crypto business. It’s a madness, I tell ya, a madness! Buenos Aires thinks it can be a worldwide leader in cryptocurrency, because…because they have “crypto natives” livin’ there. Natives! Like they were *born* knowin’ about blockchain!

Apparently, over 10,000 people get paid in this stuff. 10,000! That’s… a lot of shekels, er, *crypto*. Now they’ve got this program called “BA Crypto” which lets you pay for everything! Housing? Crypto! Permits? Crypto! Traffic tickets? Crypto! Finally, a use for all that Bitcoin I accidentally mined… oh wait.

They got a QR code thingy now. QR codes! As if we didn’t have enough things to scan! And they’re promising a “universal payment core.” A core! Like a fruit! Don’t ask me. 🤷‍♂️ They want you to be able to pay from *any* crypto wallet. Any! The audacity!

And get this! They’re makin’ taxes simpler for these crypto people, and givin’ incentives to crypto companies to move there. Incentives! It’s a conspiracy, I tell ya, a conspiracy to confuse us all! 🤯

That Jorge Macri fellow – a very serious name, I’m sure – he says this will make Buenos Aires visible to the “crypto native crowd.” Visible! As if it wasn’t visible before! He declared:

The goal is for the city to become a world leader in crypto. We already have the human capital, and now we’re creating the tools by reducing bureaucracy to facilitate taxpayer compliance and support the arrival of new companies that are setting up here.

Oy, that’s a mouthful! And bureaucracy? They’re *reducing* bureaucracy? That’s like saying a lion is giving up meat! This all started back in 2022, too, with some other fella talkin’ about “digitalization.” Digitalization! What’s wrong with paper?! 👴
