Bros star Matt Goss reveals terrifying stalker ordeal: Singer says he has been left ‘very emotional’ and avoiding social media after person got ‘very, very close’ to his home before being arrested
As a dedicated fan of Matt Goss, it is heartbreaking to hear about his recent ordeal with a stalker. His emotional recount of the harrowing experience during an interview on Rylan Clark’s podcast left me feeling both saddened and concerned for his wellbeing.
I, Matt Goss, from the hit bros band, recently shared some unsettling news. A person had been following me closely and even approached my residence without permission. Thankfully, authorities intervened and apprehended this individual before they could get any closer to my personal space.
In the 1980s, the pop star expressed that he was deeply moved and had stayed away from social media due to a distressing experience.
He suggested the stalker, who he did not identify, had been targeting him for some time.
In an exclusive conversation with podcast host Rylan Clark, he shared for the first time his account of the situation: “There’s been an incident involving a case of mine with several complications. Someone has recently been taken into custody.”
I’ve had the misfortune of encountering a relentless stalker lately, and it has been a harrowing experience to say the least. This individual has been relentlessly following me online, leaving threatening messages, and even came dangerously close to discovering my home address. It’s been a terrifying ordeal that has forced me to be more cautious than ever before. My focus has been on ensuring my safety and privacy, hence the lack of activity on social media.
Two years ago, Goss appeared on Strictly Come Dancing. Recently, in an episode of BBC podcast Rylan: How To Be In The Spotlight, he shared that the experience had left him feeling badly affected.
I must admit, it’s been an emotionally charged experience for me. But then things took a turn for the strange, as if out of nowhere, they suddenly shifted towards an unsettling dynamic.
‘That’s been resolved. I can’t speak about any of the details but somebody was arrested.’
A well-known singer, known for tunes like “So You Think You Can Dance,” shared an unexpected discovery: there was a fan hidden beneath his bed.
“He expressed surprise and discomfort by exclaiming, ‘Ugh, I sat down on the bed and saw something that reminded me of a mix between Rylan’s teeth and Jim Carrey’s facial expressions.'”
“It didn’t feel like a casual request like ‘Hey, could you please move your leg?’ It was a truly frightening experience. Sadly, it lacked the masculine intensity that one might hope for in such a situation.”
‘To this day I always check under the bed and the shower.’
In 1986, Goss teamed up with his brother Luke Goss to create the duo Bros. They put out their first album, titled “Push,” in 1988.
The 55-year-old returned to the UK in 2022 after an 11-year residency in America.
In an interview two years ago with The Independent, he shared that he had been expressing his desire to return for quite some time.
I feel deeply connected to this place, as if I belong here. The warm welcome I receive in this country makes me feel like I’m among family, which is a beautiful and comforting sensation.
It’s been eleven years of residing and performing four shows a week, which is quite an extended period. I began to sense a change, both emotionally and physically. While I felt accomplished and took pride in my work, I longed for a different way of living.
“I had the desire to spend my time at the park playing frisbee, football, and walking my dog. I long for the ability to have a local pub and companionship similar to that experience, representing a distinct way of life.”
Previously, Goss expressed his intention to wed his girlfriend, Chantal Brown, who was formerly married to the actor Paul Nicholls.
