Britain’s Got Talent legends announce they have SPLIT a decade after wowing Simon Cowell and reaching the final as they thank fans for their support over the years
As an obsessed fan of Bars and Melody, I can hardly contain my emotions as I read the news that they are splitting up after a decade of creating beautiful music together. I still remember the day they first appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014, performing their powerful anti-bullying track based on Faith Evans’ Hope. I was hooked from the very beginning!
Bars and Melody have split up after a decade together.
I, an unbridled fan, can’t contain my excitement as I recount the story of this remarkable music duo. Leondre Devries, a gifted rapper at just 23 years old, and Charlie Lenehan, a captivating singer at 25, graced our screens for the first time on Britain’s Got Talent back in 2014.
Faith Evans’ “Hope” song was the chosen number for their anti-bullying act. Impressed greatly by their performance, Simon Cowell pressed the Golden Buzzer, propelling them directly into the semifinals.
After that, they advanced to the finals and ended up placing third. They were surpassed by opera singer Lucy Kay and musical theatre group Collabo in the competition.
In 2015, their first album, titled “143,” reached the fourth spot on the charts. Since then, they’ve put out two more records. However, they took to social media on Monday to share the news that their journey together is coming to a close with a farewell tour.

They captioned their post: ‘The FINAL Tour – A celebration to end an ERA. We love you forever.’
In the video, Charlie expressed: “This is our final journey as a team. We can’t thank you enough for your unwavering affection and encouragement throughout the years. You’re more than just fans to us; you’re an integral part of our success story.”
For this tour, we’ve been developing some exciting new elements, which we can’t wait to unveil and conclude the experience together.
In the studio, the boys chuckled, commenting that it had been a while since they last appeared on camera.
The announcement included clips from their sold-out concerts featuring ecstatic fans, followed by the unveiling of additional tour dates.
Their farewell concerts will take place across September, with 13 dates in total.
Five shows will happen in the UK, while the other shows are in Europe. The last show will be held in Tokyo, Japan’s capital city.

Once they had built a connection with the judges at Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon’s fond admiration during the audition, they were given a standing ovation as a sign of appreciation.
After performing, Simon expressed his confidence that their song could become a successful hit record.
Following their 2015 debut, Generation Z followed in 2017 and then Sadboi followed in 2020.
Since gaining popularity, they’ve traveled for tours annually, amassing a significant following of over a million people on Instagram.
