The Eurovision Song Contest has 25 songs and complex stage setups in a large venue, so technical problems sometimes occur. This year, during the 70th contest, one country unfortunately experienced a major issue.
Daniel Žižka of Czechia had some technical difficulties during his ‘Crossroads’ performance. The video quality became grainy and even froze briefly, and a camera operator was accidentally visible in a mirror at one point.
Graham Norton, providing commentary for the BBC’s live broadcast, noted the performance had strong vocals but was plagued by several technical issues.

That never occurred during any of the practice runs. It looked like the camera operator inside the mirrors might have fallen, though I’m not certain. The Czech Republic likely won’t be pleased, but the performance will continue as planned, he stated.
Fans generally enjoyed Žižka’s performance of ‘Crossroads,’ but many took to social media to complain about technical problems during the show, and some felt the performance deserved a redo.

One viewer on X expressed frustration with Czechia’s performance, stating, “Czechia needs to perform again, technical issues ruined the second half of their song – it’s not fair.” Another commenter wondered if Czechia would request a re-performance, noting that about 30 seconds of the song were affected by technical difficulties.
One viewer jokingly suggested allowing Czechia to perform again, saying it would save the hosts from embarrassment. Another viewer expressed strong frustration, stating they believe Czechia deserves legal action.
I was reading the chat and everyone was saying, “Let Czechia have another go! It wasn’t their fault what happened!” Another person called it a real shame about the tech issues, especially since Žižka was playing so well – they said his performance was stunning.
Even though fans wanted Žižka to perform again, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) stated that wouldn’t happen, though they did admit there was a minor problem.

A minor camera problem occurred during Czechia’s performance in the Eurovision Song Contest’s Grand Final. However, the artist’s singing and sound weren’t impacted, so they won’t be performing the song again, according to a BBC report.
Czechia made it to the Grand Final after succeeding in Thursday’s semi-final (May 14th) and performed 11th in the show. Representing the UK, Look Mum No Computer was the 14th act to take the stage.
The Eurovision Song Contest airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
