Sources say Tom Hardy might be returning to the show MobLand only a week after reports surfaced that he’d been let go. Meanwhile, his co-star Helen Mirren has publicly voiced her support for him.
So, I was reading online last week that Hardy, the guy who plays Harry Da Souza, got the boot from the show before season three even started. Apparently, he was consistently late to set and had some disagreements with the producers – even rewrote parts of the script, which didn’t go down well. It’s a shame, I liked his character!
According to a recent Variety report, reports of Hardy being fired from the series are false. Paramount is reportedly in discussions to have him return for a third season, and a source indicates they are currently resolving some creative differences.

Despite any issues that may have occurred privately, Tom Hardy seems to have support from at least one of his colleagues. Helen Mirren, who stars alongside him in the series, publicly showed her support on Instagram with a simple message: “Love you now and always. Helen.”
Initial reports claimed Tom Hardy was removed from the show due to disagreements with producer David C Glasser and writer Jez Butterworth. However, a recent article in Variety clarified that wasn’t the reason, although there were some conflicts on set.
What to Read Next
I was reading over on Variety that this whole thing could’ve been sorted out much earlier, but all the talk about Tom Hardy supposedly being fired just made everything way worse and really prolonged the issue. It’s a shame it had to play out like that.
This crime drama, created by Ronan Bennett, centers on Harry, a man who resolves problems for the powerful Harrigan crime family in London. When a new gang tries to disrupt the established criminal order, Harry is assigned the dangerous job of stopping a full-scale war.

Problems on the set happened while filming the next season, which Paramount approved last year. We don’t know exactly when the new episodes will be released, but star Tom Hardy has hinted that the storyline will be bigger and more detailed.
MobLand streams on Paramount+.
