To finish the challenge and get the skin and rewards, you’ll need to win a total of nine matches across all three stages. It’s a bit tough because you only start with four lives, but you can use Gems to buy more if you need them. It would be great if there were unlimited lives, though!

How to complete the Brawl Stars Starr Nova Challenge event

The great news is that finishing this challenge is pretty straightforward – you just need to complete 3 stages to get your rewards. Each stage requires three wins to move on, which can be tricky since you’re relying on teammates. Here’s a breakdown of the 3 stages, with some tips to help you complete them and earn everything on offer.

Starr Nova Challenge Stage 1: Knockout

Knockout mode is a game where you win by defeating the other team in three rounds. A team wins when they’ve won two rounds, but once you’re out in a round, you stay out for the rest of it – there are no second chances!

During this part of the game, focus on heroes who can survive well, like Tanks or Marksmen Brawlers, as staying alive is just as important as defeating opponents. Good choices include Piper or Lola, who can attack from a safe distance, or the new Tank, Damian, and the damage-dealing hero, Najia. This stage takes place on the Out in the Open map.

Starr Nova Challenge Stage 2: Brawl Ball

Brawl Ball is a mode where you try to grab the ball and score by getting it into the other team’s goal. The first team to score two goals wins. If the game goes into Overtime, all obstacles disappear, and whoever scores the next goal wins. This match takes place on the Spiraling Out map.

As I explained in my guide for Damian, he’s a strong choice for Brawl Ball because he can jump in to interrupt opponents and put them on the defensive. To give your team even more opportunities, consider using Sirius – he’s a reliable controller who can help set up plays.

Starr Nova Challenge Stage 3: Gem Grab

Once you’ve completed the third stage, you’ll move on to Gem Grab. In this mode, your team needs to collect and hold onto 10 gems to win. If neither team reaches 10 gems by the time the match ends, the team with the most gems wins. You’ll be playing on the Gem Fort map.

Okay, so when I’m picking my team, I usually have a couple of options. If I’m going for a sneaky, gem-grabbing strategy, Max is awesome, or just for a fast rotation. I also like artillery Brawlers like Juju, but only if I have a strong tank like Ash or Damian up front to protect them. Personally, I love playing Controllers like Squeak or Sirius – it’s so satisfying to annoy the other team from way back there!

Complete the challenge and unlock all Starr Nova Drops and Player Icon for free

I was hoping for a unique skin similar to those from the previous My Hero Academia event, but I think the six Starr Nova Drops are still a great deal. With a little luck, you can unlock cool Starr Nova skins like Starr Patrol Amber and Starr Patrol Bea, plus other rewards!

I’ve mentioned this before, and I’ll say it again: I don’t really like challenges that limit your attempts – like this one, which only gives you 4 lives instead of letting you try as many times as you need. Considering how unpredictable solo queue can be, you’ll likely have to use some gems to finish it if you don’t get teamed up with helpful players.
