Supercell recently shared their plans for Brawl Stars through 2026, detailing how they intend to evolve the popular game and keep players entertained. Their roadmap gives a good look at the future direction of this fast-paced MOBA.
This update addresses many things, including changes to Ranked, finding the right mix of permanent and temporary content, and making existing gameplay better.
Frank, the General Manager of Brawl Stars, shared both detailed and preliminary plans for the game’s future. He emphasized that these plans aren’t set in stone and might not happen as described. They are flexible and could be delayed or even cancelled altogether.
This isn’t a video detailing our future plans, but we do want to share the challenges we’re aiming to solve and how we’ll be improving Brawl going forward!

Supercell’s main aim is to create a fun and captivating game experience that helps Brawl Stars continue to improve and expand.
Improving the Quality of Ranked

Supercell updated Ranked Mode in 2025 to be easier for casual players, and the changes were successful – playtime increased and more players returned to the game. However, Supercell wants to improve Ranked even further, specifically for dedicated and competitive players who use it to truly test their skills.
Supercell has announced they’re looking at ways to improve Ranked mode, but not with a major overhaul. Instead, they want to focus on making it more user-friendly and enjoyable for competitive players, and they’re hoping to get more feedback from the community to help with this.
Better Balance Between Permanent Features And Events
Supercell plans to strike a better balance in Brawl Stars between adding new, lasting improvements and running temporary events. To achieve this, they’ve dedicated two teams to the task. As Frank explained, their main goal is to release features that are well-developed and meet both their own and players’ high standards.

Superell intends to run events almost every month and regularly add new or improved features to the game. The team is developing a plan to release updates more often, and Frank mentioned they might try releasing content monthly starting in the latter half of 2026.
Frank explained that recent in-game events have been crucial for keeping Brawl Stars players interested and coming back. He added that future events will likely include major partnerships with other popular brands, and possibly smaller collaborations that could bring unique character skins to the game.
Experimenting With More Story-Driven Elements
In 2025, Supercell’s Battle for Katana Kingdom event was a big success because it told an engaging, ongoing story. Now, the team plans to build on that success in 2026 by incorporating more storytelling into their events, potentially creating events that last for several months.
Players have wanted more story elements in Brawl Stars for a while. A story mode was actually prototyped in 2023, but it wasn’t polished enough and was ultimately cancelled.
Making Cosmetics Feel More Exciting

Supercell is evaluating how players experience cosmetics in the game. Right now, players don’t feel as thrilled when they earn items like Skins and Sprays because they’re often quite easy to get. For instance, Pins aren’t as appealing anymore – there are many available, but only a limited number of spaces to display them.
Bling, the in-game currency Supercell added to Brawl Stars to make it easier for players to get cosmetic items, isn’t as helpful anymore. This has left many players with a large amount of unused Bling, even though there are items available to purchase in the game’s shop.
Players sometimes find the different levels of skin rarity confusing, leading to disagreements about how much they’re worth. We plan to address this in the next year.
Keeping An Eye on Trophy Road

The Trophy Road has been updated recently, with a big focus on Prestige. Supercell is paying close attention to how things are going with Prestige, and they’ll make further adjustments if they think it will improve the experience.
The plan for Brawl Stars in 2026 is ambitious, addressing both how the game plays and how it’s balanced. It also reinforces Supercell’s commitment to keeping the game fun and listening to player feedback when making decisions about its future.
These 2026 projections are best seen as a general idea of what’s coming next year, rather than firm commitments.
