Brawl Stars Penny Guide – Best Setup For Super Rare Brawler

This guide will help you master Penny in Brawl Stars. We’ll cover her attacks, stats, and abilities to build the most effective strategy. Penny excels at long-range combat and can deal significant damage when opponents are aligned. Let’s dive into the details of how to play Penny.

Brawl Stars Penny Guide – How To Unlock

To unlock Penny in Brawl Stars, players can:

  • Unlock her on Trophy Road
  • Unlock her from a Mega Box (0.5% chance)
    • *Players may also unlock Penny from rarer Drops like Sushi Rolls or Angelic/Demonic Drops

You’ll probably unlock Penny by playing Trophy Road, but it will take some time and effort. You might need to play with multiple Brawlers and collect a lot of trophies to get her.

Brawl Stars Penny Guide – Attacks & Stats Per Level

Penny’s primary attack, the Plunderbuss, is a long-range shot that fires a projectile at opponents. If the projectile hits, it doesn’t go straight through, but it releases three additional projectiles. These extra shots deal less damage individually, but combined, they can inflict significant damage, making it particularly effective in close-quarters combat, especially against groups of enemies.

Penny’s ‘Old Lobber’ ability lets her create a cannon that fires at enemies from far away. The cannonballs also create a burning area on impact, damaging any enemies standing there. However, the cannon reloads relatively slowly, despite its long range.

Plus, with Penny’s Hypercharge, called New Lobber, her cannon now shoots two cannonballs at once instead of just one.

Brawl Stars Penny Guide – Which Star Powers & Gadgets are the best?

Overall, Penny has two gadgets:

  • Salty Barrel – “Penny drops a barrel of salt that blocks enemy projectiles. She can also use it to burst her own gold pouches.”
  • Trust Spyglass – “Penny’s cannon blasts at every visible enemy position within range.”

Additionally, Penny has two Star Powers:

  • Heavy Coffers – “Penny’s gold pouches burst with a 100% wider cone after each hit.”
  • Master Blaster – Penny’s cannon deals damage and knocks back nearby enemies on landing.”

Furthermore, Penny can use the following gears in battle:

  • Speed
  • Vision
  • Health
  • Shield
  • Damage
  • Gadget Cooldown

Brawl Stars Penny Guide – Recommended Star Power, Gadget, & Gear Setup

We suggest using Salty Barrel for Gadgets. It gives her extra protection and helps her quickly break open her gold pouches. While the barrel doesn’t take much damage, it stays up for a good amount of time. Just watch out for Brawlers like Poco, EMZ, and Tara, who can bypass the barrel’s defense.

When choosing a Star Power, we suggest going with Heavy Coffers. It’s useful much more often than Master Blaster, which only helps in specific situations. Heavy Coffers spreads your coins out more, making it essential for game modes like Hot Zone and Gem Grab.

When building a setup for Gears, we suggest focusing on Damage and Shield Gear. These are generally the best choices for most Brawlers, as they increase both attack power and defense. Penny’s Gadgets don’t offer enough benefit to justify using Gear that reduces Gadget cooldown time.

Currently, Penny has an Epic Gear that increases her Pet Power, and we suggest using it for now. However, Supercell intends to remove these gears in a future update, so it’s a temporary benefit and we won’t be able to recommend it long-term.

Brawl Stars – Which Modes Should You Use Penny In (And Which Modes You Shouldn’t)

Hot Zone

Penny is incredibly powerful in Hot Zone thanks to her Cannon and strong attacks. She can quickly eliminate enemies with just a few accurate shots, and her sustained cannon fire makes it very difficult for opponents to stay alive within the zone.

Gem Grab

Penny is a strong choice for this mode thanks to her powerful main attack and Cannon. If you can catch all the enemy brawlers grouped together, you can quickly eliminate them. However, she isn’t ideal for carrying gems because she doesn’t have a lot of health and her speed is average.

Duo/Trio Showdown

Penny is a strong pick for this mode because her attacks can quickly break open boxes and damage enemies. This lets her and her team level up faster. Plus, because enemies tend to stay close together, the wide range of her main attack is very effective.

Brawl Stars Penny Guide – What Mode(s) Should I NOT Use Penny In?

Bounty/Knockout/Wipeout

Even though Penny has a long attack range, she’s not a particularly strong choice for this game mode. Her cannon shots might have trouble hitting enemies, or even reaching them at all. Plus, enemies usually spread out, which makes it difficult for her to effectively use her coin spread attack. Ultimately, she’ll likely struggle to defeat opponents quickly.

Overall, that wraps up our Brawl Stars Penny Guide!
