Blake Lively has clarified that reports about Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman witnessing her husband Ryan Reynolds’ conversation with Justin Baldoni regarding alleged body-shaming are inaccurate.
During a recent deposition, actress Blake Lively stated that only her husband, Ryan Reynolds, was present at their New York City home when she discussed a concern about Justin Baldoni. Lively explained that Baldoni had been at her home to review script changes.
Lively said her trainer, Don Saladino, told her that Baldoni, 41, had secretly asked about her starting weight for their movie, It Ends With Us. Baldoni explained he asked because he was worried about potential back problems during filming.
She testified that she told Saladino she was bothered by his comments about her weight, and that she found his questions intrusive and unwelcome. This conversation happened on April 25, 2023.
Lively said that Reynolds ‘quickly came over and joined our conversation,’ following reports that her friend Swift had referred to Baldoni with a harsh insult in text messages.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Hugh Jackman, Taylor Swift, Adam Baldoni, Ryan Reynolds, and Blake Lively, but has not yet received a response.
She went on to testify that their friend Jackman ‘stopped by’ to take Reynolds for lunch.
Lively said that Jackman greeted Baldoni, they chatted briefly, and then Jackman left with Reynolds.
Only Baldoni, Reynolds, and I were present in the office when we talked about his inappropriate questions about my weight.
The witness’s statement didn’t match a previously released timeline. This timeline, originally emailed from Jamey Heath’s team at Wayfarer Studios to Baldoni’s publicist in July 2024, was made public in November.
According to an email obtained by The Daily Mail, Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were present at Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s apartment when Reynolds had a very angry and emotional argument with a crying Justin Baldoni.
The document claims Baldoni visited Reynolds’ penthouse, where Reynolds confronted him about asking about a woman’s weight. Reynolds stated this was an instance of ‘fat shaming’ Blake.
The document states that Baldoni was deeply upset, apologized, and was visibly emotional.
The issue arose when Justin Baldoni, who both starred alongside and directed Colleen Hoover, inquired about Lively’s weight with her trainer. This happened before a scene in ‘It Ends With Us’ that required him to lift her.
The email mentioned that Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were also in the apartment when the meeting took place.
Okay, so it’s just… devastating. Apparently, in December 2024, Ariel Lively filed a lawsuit against Chad Michael Murray – and others, I guess – claiming sexual harassment and retaliation. He’s completely denied everything, of course, which… ugh. And now there’s a trial scheduled for March 2026. I’m just… I need to know the truth, and I’m so anxious about what will happen. It’s just awful.
Baldoni and his legal team shared a detailed timeline of events – covering January 2019 to January 2024 – on the website thelawsuitinfo.com. This included 168 pages of correspondence, such as emails, text messages, and WhatsApp chats.
According to his website, Baldoni says he got guidance on ‘diet and fitness’ and ‘adjusting to his limitations’ due to his back injury, which includes several bulging discs and ongoing pain.
In addition to subscribing to Saladino’s meal delivery service, Baldoni consulted with them for help with back exercises. He needed to train for a scene where he would be lifting Lively.
He admitted to privately asking about Lively’s weight, claiming he did so with good intentions and considered it a normal question for someone in a trainer-client relationship.
Lively claims she was deeply embarrassed when she discovered Mr. Baldoni had contacted her fitness trainer behind her back, suggesting he wanted her to lose weight quickly – within just two weeks.
In a $400 million lawsuit that was later thrown out, Baldoni’s legal team stated he contacted Lively’s trainer to find out her weight. He needed this information to prepare for a scene where he would be lifting her.
Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were both previously identified as possible witnesses for Blake Lively’s legal case. This came after reports of a falling out between Swift and Lively, allegedly due to Swift’s involvement in the legal issues.
Hugh Jackman publicly supported Taylor Swift by attending the premiere of her film, It Ends With Us, in New York City on August 9, 2024, where he took photos with Swift and Ryan Reynolds. He also joined Swift on the cover of Vogue magazine’s September 2024 issue.
This follows the release of text messages between Lively and Swift, revealed during the legal case. The messages showed they both made negative comments about Baldoni.
Okay, so here’s the scoop – things got a little heated on set, apparently! Court documents revealed Blake Lively playfully (but pointedly!) referred to the director, Antonio Baldoni, as a ‘doofus.’ And get this – Taylor Swift was totally supportive, offering to do absolutely anything for Blake! It just shows how close these two are – a true ride-or-die friendship, even when dealing with work drama. It’s a reminder that even celebrities have moments where things aren’t perfect, and they lean on their friends just like we all do.
After a meeting about changing the script, Lively called Swift the ‘absolute greatest friend ever.’
In separate messages, Taylor Swift offered advice to Lively regarding the use of one of her songs in the movie and implied that Baldoni hadn’t been thinking things through carefully.
Shortly before a major New York Times article detailing Lively’s accusations was scheduled to be published in December 2024, Swift confided in a friend, saying she believed Baldoni suspected something was about to happen, joking that he was already playing the victim.
Court documents show Lively spoke negatively about Baldoni to several of her celebrity friends, such as Matt and Lucy Damon. She reportedly even described him to Ben Affleck as a ‘chaotic clown’.
Lively’s response to numerous accusations from Baldoni was detailed in a lengthy court filing in New York federal court.
According to a court document, on April 12, 2023, Lively reached out to her friend, singer Taylor Swift, for assistance.
She angrily dismissed the film’s director, Baldoni, calling him a “fool” and a “clown” who falsely believes he’s also a capable screenwriter.
‘She asked Swift to endorse the revised script she was proposing even without having read it.’
One text to the singer from Lively read: ‘You don’t have to read of course’.
Those working with Lively denied she asked Taylor Swift to approve the screenplay without first seeing it. They said she simply expressed a hope that Swift would endorse it.
The court filing also reveals that Taylor Swift offered to do whatever Blake Lively asked, sending a text message saying, “I’ll do anything for you!!”
Blake Lively and Taylor Swift met at Lively’s home, where Swift approved the latest version of something they were working on. Lively then excitedly told Swift how much she appreciated her help, and even shared all the details with her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
I couldn’t stop thinking about things you said – how you were spreading false stories about me and mentioning ‘lenses,’ and then calling me ‘your doll.’ It’s like you were both completely fooled by this person – who I assume is Baldoni – but also fighting against it. Despite everything, you’re an incredibly loyal friend.
In their response, Lively’s side disputed that Swift agreed to do Lively’s ‘bidding.’
I was shocked to hear the claims against Lively! Apparently, her lawyers said she told some really big names – Matt and Lucy Damon, and Ben Affleck – that she completely rewrote the script and even directed the actors herself. It sounds pretty dramatic, and I can’t believe she’d make such a statement.
Okay, so I’m hearing some interesting buzz about Blake Lively and ‘It Ends With Us’! Apparently, sources are saying Blake really took the reins on the movie and, working with Ryan Reynolds, actually rewrote significant portions of the script. It sounds like she wasn’t just acting, but actively shaping the story we’ll see on screen. It’s a bold move, and definitely something that’s got people talking!
A representative for Taylor Swift has repeatedly stated that she had absolutely no involvement in the making of the film. They confirmed she wasn’t on set, didn’t participate in casting or creative choices, didn’t work on the music, and didn’t review any edits or provide feedback. In fact, she didn’t even see the finished movie until weeks after it was released to the public, and was busy on her world tour throughout 2023 and 2024.
Honestly, it’s all about Taylor’s personal connection to the movie, and because of that, she let them use “My Tears Ricochet”! It’s amazing, she really believed in the project enough to share that song. I knew she’d be involved somehow!
He explained that Taylor Swift’s name was being exploited to attract media attention and generate sensational headlines, rather than to highlight the actual details of the situation.
