Black Veil Brides had a blunt response to Yungblud savior talk

Yungblud is quickly becoming a popular name in rock, but he’s actually been building his career for several years. He started releasing music back in 2017, so he’s not a newcomer to the industry.

Honestly, the way this guy builds his career is a little weird to me. It feels like he needs to team up with other artists – like, the Machine Gun Kelly collab was…interesting – and constantly relies on covers of legends like Ozzy and Bowie to really get popular. It makes you wonder how much of his success is actually him, and how much he’s getting from other people’s fame.

Okay, so people are talking about Yungblud being some kind of rock savior, but honestly, he’s never claimed that title himself. I just read an interview in Metal Hammer where they asked Andy Biersack from Black Veil Brides about him, and Andy gave a really classy, supportive answer – definitely didn’t get into any drama, which is cool.

Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides pushes pause on Yungblud savior talk

I don’t really follow Yungblud’s music,” Biersack explained, “but people always love to criticize young rock artists. It doesn’t help when the media starts calling him ‘the savior of rock’ – he’s not claiming that title himself! The music industry is full of artists who are briefly hyped as ‘the saviors of rock and roll’… It’s ridiculous to label anyone that way when rock music is still thriving and bands are still playing to huge crowds.

Biersack added, “Yungblud is very talented.”

It’s a mistake to call Yungblud a “savior” of any music scene – frankly, it makes you wonder if those making the claim really understand the genre. He’s certainly entertaining, but he mainly benefited from appearing at the Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath farewell concert, which boosted his career.

Yungblud has even collaborated with Aerosmith, suggesting his team is making smart career moves. While he’s talented, his skill level isn’t necessarily above many other rock artists working today.

He’d probably agree. He always seems respectful of the legendary artists he’s worked with, such as Ozzy.

Yungblud risks losing momentum if he tries to handle everything himself. Like most artists, he benefits from collaborating with his talented friends to stay successful.

I’m a huge Black Veil Brides fan, and I think they’ve really found their own sound within the horror metal scene. It’s definitely not mainstream music, and honestly, that’s part of what I love about them! They’re doing what they want to do, and their fans have stuck with them through it all. To me, bands like BVB are exactly what rock needs right now – they’re willing to take risks and be different, and I respect that, even if it doesn’t appeal to everyone. They’re not afraid to fail while trying something new, and that’s awesome.
