Bitcoin’s Skyrocketing Price: US CPI Data Gives Crypto Fans a Surprise Boost!

The ever-elusive US Bureau of Labor Statistics, perhaps trying to keep us on our toes, finally decided to grace us with the September Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures. Surprise, surprise, they came in at a modest 3% year-over-year increase. Not exactly a heart attack-inducing number, but enough to send the markets into a frenzy.

Now, don’t get too comfortable, because prior to this revelation, the rumor mill had been spinning its usual tales. Expectations were set at a 3.1% rise in both the regular and Core CPI, and guess what? We missed it by a hair. It’s almost as if we were hoping for more inflation to make life a bit spicier, but alas, the gods of statistics had other plans.

Breaking news: The US #CPI Numbers are in:

→ CPI + 3% YoY (expected +3.1%)

→ CORE CPI + 3% YoY (expected +3.1%)

Bitcoin price, like a kid who just found candy, surged above $112,000 after hearing this shocking news!

Oh, and let’s not forget: This data was supposed to be released last week. But, due to the government shutdown (of course), we were left hanging with no CPI gossip to fuel our speculation. But hey, better late than never, right?

But here’s the juicy bit-turns out the numbers were a little bit lower than what the “experts” had anticipated. Who would have thought that inflation wouldn’t continue to rise, especially for those poor goods cursed with tariffs? It’s almost like the universe is throwing us a bone.

Now that the CPI numbers have beaten expectations, the Federal Reserve might be getting ready to lower interest rates next week. What does this mean for all of us? Well, a more favorable environment for riskier assets like Bitcoin. And what happens when Bitcoin gets a little extra love? That’s right-it goes from a sleepy $111,000 to a heart-racing $112,000, and then maybe pauses to catch its breath.

As you can see from the graph (and the chart nerds are rejoicing), the crypto king took off like a rocket, but didn’t forget to take a breather after its initial surge. Classic Bitcoin.
