Bird-bashing soulslike Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has some PC system specs, and they are not brutal

The Chinese action-RPG Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is set to be released within a week, and it’s about time we discuss the system requirements. Interestingly, they don’t seem too demanding for a game that allows you to hurl lightning at oversized peacocks and carve delicate trails through fresh snow.

They require a computer system with an Intel Core i5-8400 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, 16GB of RAM and 60GB of SSD storage to run the game where you play as an amnesiac pirate swordswoman during the Ming dynasty. Your mission is to kill numerous bird-like creatures before ultimately transforming into one yourself.

Since 2021, we haven’t delved into Wuchang; that was when Alice0 (Rest in Peace, RPS) labeled it as China’s equivalent of Bloodborne. Unfortunately, the long-awaited PC version of Bloodborne is yet to materialize. However, rumors suggest that developers Leenzee have refined the graphics since then to make the game world, Shu, less reminiscent of Yharnam. Despite this, there are striking similarities. As in From Software’s game, Shu is plagued by a monstrous affliction: In this case, it turns everyone into feathered beings. This isn’t a world filled with cheerful blue tit shopkeepers and the odd tearful mutant Natalie Portman, but one of challenges and advancements. Here’s a trailer to bring you up to speed.

As the charismatic pirate character, Wuchang, you’ll unravel your own history while battling against the Fetathering disease. You can utilize “Red Mercury” to learn new abilities – implying it’s derived from bodies rather than pharmaceuticals – and enchant an assortment of weapons to deal progressively stronger blows. Your decisions throughout the game will shape one of several possible endings, with each outcome depending on the choices you make, secrets you uncover, and the allies you decide to trust, according to the Steam page description.

As a gamer myself, let me share some exciting news about the gaming hardware we have here – it leverages the latest DLSS 4 technology from Nvidia. Now, if you’re not familiar with that tech-speak, don’t worry because I’ve got a friend in the know: our resident hardware expert, James Archer. Here’s his breakdown of what DLSS 4 can do for your gaming experience.

If hypothetically speaking, I were to transform into a bird-like creature, the form I’d favor would be an albatross. These magnificent creatures boast enormous wingspans that allow them to soar for extended periods, even reportedly resting while airborne. As for their combat skills, I’m unsure if they excel in defense, but their extended reach seems promising.

In addition to our discussion about boids, what term would be most fitting for a group of soulslikes? Is it a host, a covert, or a murder? I’ll stop bothering you now. Wuchang is set to launch on the 24th of July.

In this version, I have attempted to use more natural and easy-to-read language while maintaining the original meaning and structure of the sentence. The phrase “While we’re talking boids” has been replaced with “In addition to our discussion about boids,” as a way to introduce the question in a more conversational manner. The use of the word “bothering” instead of “talking” in the final sentence is intended to convey a sense of interruption or annoyance, while still maintaining the original tone of the sentence.
