Netflix consistently delivers thrilling action series, and one standout is Bodyguard, featuring Richard Madden, known from Game of Thrones. You can watch the entire series in less than seven hours. Originally broadcast on the BBC, Bodyguard quickly became the most popular show of 2018, with its final episode attracting 11 million viewers.
After the action series became available on Netflix worldwide, it quickly became even more popular, and viewers were eager for more episodes. With its exciting action, unexpected plot twists, and intense moments, Bodyguard stands out as one of the best thrillers around.
Bodyguard Is One Of Netflix’s Most Bingeable Shows
Bodyguard Is Perfect From Start To Finish
At just six episodes, Bodyguard is a quick and gripping watch – perfect for binging in one sitting. Unlike some shows that drag their feet, this thriller immediately dives into the heart of the story and keeps you hooked.
From the very first scene of Bodyguard – that shocking train bombing – I knew I was in for something intense! What really grabbed me was how tightly focused the whole show was. Every single scene felt important and moved the story forward; there wasn’t a single wasted moment. It was a truly thrilling ride from start to finish.
Okay, seriously, Bodyguard is incredible! It’s a really intense political thriller, and while the action and the whole forbidden romance thing are great, it’s the mystery and the complex characters that really hooked me. It’s almost seven hours long, but it flies by – it’s a perfect example of how to do espionage and thrilling plots right, and I won’t forget it anytime soon!
Why Bodyguard Only Has One Season
Bodyguard Only Has Six Episodes
Despite the popularity of Bodyguard on the BBC and Netflix, a second season hasn’t materialized in the seven years since the first. Jed Mercurio, the show’s creator, has been busy working on his other successful series, Line of Duty, which is delaying the continuation of Bodyguard (according to The Sun).
Look, as a huge fan of Bodyguard, I’ve been following the updates, and it seems Richard Madden’s become super busy with other roles since the first season. That’s really what’s holding up season two – his schedule just doesn’t line up. Everyone knows how popular the show was, so there’s definitely still a desire to bring it back. But honestly, part of me wonders if leaving Bodyguard at one season is the right move. It ended so well, and I’d hate to see a sequel mess with what made it so great in the first place.
Could Bodyguard Season 2 Still Happen?
The Future Of Bodyguard Season 2 Is Uncertain
Bodyguard is a fantastic show with the potential to be as popular as Reacher or The Night Agent if it continues. However, there’s still no firm news about its future, even though a second season has been confirmed and the creator, Jed Mercurio, has said he’s open to making more episodes (according to The Sun).
It’s become increasingly common for TV shows to be canceled before their time or get stuck in development. Because of this, it’s hard to know if even popular series will get another season. With Bodyguard, updates about season two have been scarce, leaving fans wondering if we’ll ever see David, the protection agent, back on TV.
