The popular historical drama The Imitation Game, featuring Benedict Cumberbatch and Matthew Goode, is now available on a new streaming service in the UK. Critics have called the film, which received numerous award nominations after its release, a “gripping” watch.
The 2014 movie features Benedict Cumberbatch as Alan Turing, a brilliant mathematician who was recruited by the British Army during World War II. He joined a team at Bletchley Park dedicated to breaking enemy codes and helping to defeat the Nazis.
Although Turing achieved significant success and impact in many areas of research – recognition of which came rather late – he also dealt with immense personal hardship. As a gay man, he lived under the shadow of criminal laws that condemned homosexuality in Britain at the time.

The historical drama, directed by Morten Tyldum and written by Graham Moore, is currently streaming on BBC iPlayer in the UK. However, it will only be available until May 5th, so be sure to watch it soon!
The film boasts a strong cast, featuring Benedict Cumberbatch alongside Keira Knightley, Rory Kinnear, Allen Leech, Charles Dance, Mark Strong, Tuppence Middleton, and Matthew Goode, who plays fellow codebreaker Hugh Alexander.
