James Pinkerton revealed details about Ben Affleck’s canceled Batman movie after responding to a fan on Instagram. Someone then shared a picture of their conversation on Reddit.

The experienced artist shared that he created a lot of preliminary visual content for a movie intended to start filming in 2017. He fondly remembered the experience, saying, “It was amazing to go to the Warner Bros. lot each day to work on Batman – I especially loved working on the scenes with Mr. Freeze.”

Skyler Pinkerton mentioned the film was planned to include several Batman villains beyond Mr. Freeze and Deathstroke. He described Mr. Freeze’s role as small but impactful, confirming reports from people like cinematographer Bob Richardson that the story heavily featured Arkham Asylum and a variety of villains. Pinkerton emphasized that Mr. Freeze wasn’t just a quick cameo, calling his scenes “beautiful and haunting.”

Ben Affleck has stepped down as director of the upcoming Batman movie, according to Variety. However, he plans to assist in finding a new director. He explained that balancing directing and acting in the film proved too challenging.

Affleck stated he was still very enthusiastic about the project and eager to share it with fans globally. Despite this, the movie was ultimately never made. In an interview with GQ last March, he even described the idea as a flawed plan.
