Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner seem more like a couple than exes as they  happily reunite with son Samuel, 14, ahead of Easter

Despite divorcing in 2018, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have remained friendly with each other.

The former couple were seen together again on Friday, taking their 14-year-old son, Samuel, out for errands in Los Angeles.

Anyone could see how happy they were together – they seemed completely devoted to each other.

Garner, 53, had a bounce in her step while she draped an arm around her son’s shoulders.

Ben Affleck, 53, was recently spotted taking his son, Samuel, for chicken nuggets at McDonald’s. He seemed relaxed and his typical self as they walked through a parking lot.

Despite their breakup, the former couple has stayed close as a family, consistently coming together for holidays and their children’s birthdays. They share two children, Violet, age 20, and Fin, age 17, and have successfully maintained a strong family bond.

On February 28th, the director of Argo and an actor from Alias continued their yearly custom of throwing a paintball party for Samuel, who turned fourteen.

The group arrived at Combat Paintball Park in Castaic, California, and appeared prepared to play.

The previous year, during their son’s 13th birthday party at the paintball park, Affleck was seen warmly embracing Garner and sharing a laugh with her.

This recent appearance follows Jennifer Garner’s open discussion about the challenges of raising three children with her ex-husband in separate homes.

In an interview with Charlotte Owen for Bustle’s One Nightstand YouTube series, Jennifer Garner discussed how she strives to raise her children with strong values and a sense of gratitude.

I believe my children’s father feels the same way. When kids are raised in two different homes, you naturally end up taking on both parental roles, and so does he.

It’s understandable, isn’t it? Having a balanced energy flow requires both complementary forces to be present, and that’s not currently happening.

While there’s some sadness in letting go, there’s also growth and learning. It’s taught me to relax and stop trying to control everything.

Jennifer Garner recently told Marie Claire UK that her divorce was ‘difficult.’

She explained that she had to recognize her own limits, and she simply couldn’t cope with the situation she was in. What she found most difficult was the end of her family, the loss of a close relationship, and the end of a genuine friendship.

The actress explained that prioritizing her children never felt like a hardship, even with her Hollywood career. She noted it significantly influenced the types of roles she took on.

I’ve been following Ben Affleck for years, and it’s interesting to see how things have played out. It’s great that his friendship with John Miller, the CEO of that burger chain, is still going strong after seven years. But it was sad to see his recent marriage to Jennifer Lopez end in 2024, especially after only two years together.
