Stephen Brady, executive producer of Professor T, recently shared news about the show’s upcoming season. Ben Miller (known from Death in Paradise) will return as Professor T. The new season picks up after a dramatic cliffhanger ending to Season 3 where DS Lisa Donckers, played by Emma Naomi (Bridgerton), was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident.
Now, Brady has teased what’s to come in the new season, which still hasn’t aired in the UK.
The British show Professor T is based on a Belgian series with the same name, and it has now lasted longer than the original, which aired from 2015 to 2018 for three seasons.
With the fourth series premiering in the UK, actor Brady revealed to Radio Times that they’re taking more risks this season. He explained that half of the new episodes feature completely original storylines, marking a departure from previous seasons.
Brady also explained his creative process, saying he often begins planning his complex murders by first choosing a setting or a particular weapon.

He collaborates with Miller and Walter Iuzzolino, the show’s co-executive producer, to map out the professor’s feelings, and Miller’s input is incredibly helpful.
“Like most actors, Ben knows the character a bit better than me,” Brady said.

I think of shows like these as ‘comfort crime.’ When I watch a crime drama with a talented actor like Ben, or David Mitchell in Ludwig – which is similar to this one and Death in Paradise – I know it’ll be an enjoyable experience. They’re easy to follow and watch, and I can just relax.
Ben is incredibly versatile. He’s hilarious and energetic in comedic moments, but also capable of delivering deeply moving performances.
