BBC Breakfast’s Nina Warhurst fangirls over iconic villian

As a seasoned gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in various virtual worlds, I must say that Nina Warhurst‘s encounter with the Stormtrooper is a dream come true for many of us. Growing up, I remember eagerly awaiting the BBC News at One, often catching it before my favorite soap opera, Neighbours. The news was a constant in my life, marking significant milestones from school holidays to university days and even during maternity leave.

On BBC Breakfast, host Nina Warhurst openly expressed her affection for a renowned sci-fi antagonist: the Stormtrooper character.

On Instagram, the host posted a photo capturing her thrilling encounter with one of the Star Wars villains she met.

“She titled a photo showing her with the iconic Stormtrooper, ‘You’re enjoying your weekend, but did we cross paths with a Stormtrooper?'”

In the image, Warhurst gleams, cradling a stroller, with an Imperial Stormtrooper standing behind her, fully clad in pristine white armor and a dark gun.

Supporters expressed their joy over Warhurst’s remark, as one fan posted: “The look on your face! It seems you enjoyed yourself even more than the children did.”

“You’re not the droid he’s looking for,” quipped another.

Currently, Warhurst shared insights on her initial experience hosting the BBC News at One, expressing: “For me, the BBC’s One o’clock news feels like it’s always been an integral part of my existence.”

“She wrote that her days were divided during school vacations (previously aired before ‘Neighbours’), spent each day delving into university life (while studying politics outside the classroom), taking time off for maternity leave, and relaxing at home following an early work shift.”

“It’s been one of those mental markers that punctuate the day for as long as I can remember.”

She went on to say, “The first instance when my regional news appeared on ‘The One’ and the moment I started hosting the regional broadcast… it was a feeling of being a part of something grand and unique.”

Today marked the debut of the presentation, which was a significant moment for everyone involved. For Tracey, it was her inaugural experience in front of cameras, while Jack started his first week managing the studio floor. We are all extremely proud that this institution has made its way to Salford (their smiles speak volumes!), and we extend our heartfelt thanks to our colleagues in London for cultivating such a remarkable program and generously sharing it with us.
