Filming has started on the new Baywatch movie in Los Angeles, and stars Noah Beck and Jessica Belkin have begun shooting scenes in the show’s famous swimsuits.
Twenty-four-year-old Beck and 23-year-old Belkin immediately started filming as soon as they arrived on the beach, playfully showcasing their physiques and paying homage to classic Baywatch stars like David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson.
Beck displayed his fit physique, sporting black swim trunks and a black towel draped around his neck. His chest and arms were well-defined.
For her part, Belkin was outfitted in a cheeky, white, one-piece bathing suit with a low neckline.
Later, the stars were seen at the beach with several of their co-stars, each holding a yellow lifeguard float.
Brooks Nader, Shay Mitchell, and Hassie Harrison are among the latest stars confirmed to appear in the new show.
Last week Nader confirmed her involvement with the series in an Instagram post.
In several photos taken on a studio lot, she was seen reading a copy of the script, which clearly displayed her name on the cover.
Another image showed her going over highlighted lines as she traveled via private jet.
She shared a heartfelt message in her post, saying she had faith in her vision even when it didn’t seem logical. She encouraged everyone to persevere and pursue their dreams, no matter how ambitious they may be!
‘@baywatchtv @foxtv LETS GO! ❤️’
The Sports Illustrated model, known for appearing on the cover in the show’s iconic red swimsuit in 2023, also expressed gratitude to her agency, WME.
She also gave a huge thanks to her incredible team, saying they constantly motivate her and have unwavering faith in her.
Nader will play Selene, captain of the Zuma beach lifeguards.
Stephen Amell will play the main character, Hobie Buchannon, and he recently posted a picture of the director’s slate from the set.
The Love Thy Nader star reposted it via Instagram Stories and added, ‘Here we gooooo.’
The new Baywatch iteration will air for 12 episodes.
The show, which aired from 1989 to 2001, was about the daily adventures of lifeguards working on the beaches of Los Angeles.
The show featured David Hasselhoff as Mitch Buchannon and helped launch Pamela Anderson’s career, as she played C.J. Parker.
Despite consistently receiving poor reviews from critics, Baywatch was incredibly popular with audiences and became the most-watched television show globally during its time on air.
During its last two seasons, the show was renamed Baywatch: Hawaii, and Jason Momoa – who later became a famous movie star – was added to the cast.
Last fall, Fox Television Network President Michael Thorn told Variety that the original Baywatch was hugely influential, practically defining beach culture and making lifeguards famous. He announced that the show is being revived with Fremantle, promising a contemporary update to this classic series.
Fox and Fremantle, working with Matt Nix and Baywatch’s original creator Greg Bonann, are reimagining the iconic series for a new audience. They plan to deliver updated stories, introduce new talent, and maintain the exciting, large-scale action that made Baywatch a worldwide hit.
The reboot will follow Hobie as he plays a Baywatch Captain, just like his iconic father Mitch.
Things are shaken up when his daughter Charlie arrives in hopes to continue the family legacy.
