Barry Keoghan has insisted he doesn’t ‘fit the criteria for James Bond‘.

Jacob Elordi, the actor known for his role in Saltburn, is among the actors being considered to play James Bond.

He’s now clarified things, stating he’d prefer to play a bad guy rather than take over the famous role previously played by Daniel Craig.

I recently read an interview where he talked about playing James Bond, and he really hit the nail on the head. He said it’s such an iconic part, and naturally, that comes with a huge amount of pressure and expectation. It’s true – stepping into those shoes can’t be easy!

‘It’s nice to see your name go up there, but I don’t think I fit the criteria for James Bond.

‘I’d rather come in and do the villain. The man teasing Bond, that’s more me.’

A new James Bond movie is expected to begin filming before the end of the year, and an announcement about the next 007 is coming soon, according to sources.

Ever since Daniel Craig finished his run as James Bond after ‘No Time to Die’ in 2021, fans have been guessing who will be the next 007. Currently, Jacob Elordi is the frontrunner according to betting odds.

After 25 movies and six actors playing James Bond, the hugely successful spy series was sold by its longtime producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, to Amazon MGM for around £1 billion last February.

Okay, so here’s the latest buzz: the team is aiming to begin filming the next movie this fall and into early winter. We’re talking late autumn, potentially stretching into December, which is really exciting for fans!

According to a source close to the show, the search for the next James Bond is officially on, and people are already buzzing about who will take over the iconic role and get the famous ‘Licence to Kill’.

Because the movie is being made with Prime Video, it could be released in theaters and available to stream online at the same time, or very close together.

According to The Sun, this is the first time something like that has occurred in the 64-year run of James Bond films.

And his surging popularity appears to have impacted his odds at becoming the next James Bond.

Although he was a long shot just two weeks ago, Jacob is now the frontrunner to take over from Daniel Craig in the next film.

Following the premiere of Wuthering Heights, Jacob is now the frontrunner to land the role, with odds of 5/4. He’s overtaken Callum Turner, the previous favorite, whose odds have shifted from 7/10 to 6/4.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James round off the top four in the running.

In the last 12 hours, most bets have been placed on Jacob, with 56% of bettors supporting him.

Oddschecker has significantly improved Jacob’s chances, shortening his odds from 6/1 to 5/4 overnight. This now makes him the new frontrunner, surpassing Callum, who was previously the favorite.

According to William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps, Jacob Elordi is now the clear frontrunner to be the next James Bond, following significant shifts in betting over the last day.

According to Oddschecker’s Chris Rogers, Callum Turner was previously the favorite to be the next James Bond, but a new actor has now taken the lead in betting odds.

‘Jacob Elordi is now 5/4, cut from 6/1 to take the role ahead of Turner (6/4).’ 

As a dedicated follower of this, I’ve noticed a huge surge in support for Elordi in the last 12 hours! A whopping 56% of all bets are now on the ‘Frankenstein’ star – people really seem to be getting behind him.

Callum Turner remains a popular choice and received the second-highest number of bets, with 20% of people betting on him – only behind Jacob Elordi.

Wuthering Heights earned a strong US$76.8 million (about £56 million) worldwide during its first weekend in theaters.

Emerald Fennell’s new romantic drama reimagines Emily Brontë’s classic novel, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi as the ill-fated lovers Catherine and Heathcliff.

The new film, despite being controversial, earned $34.8 million at North American box offices during its opening weekend, making it the highest-grossing film of the year so far.
