Okay, so I just heard about this and it’s kinda bumming me out. Barry Keoghan, who played Duke Shelby, won’t be reprising his role in the new Peaky Blinders series. Apparently, they’re continuing the story past the original timeline, jumping into the 1950s, and Steven Knight – the creator – is writing it all. They’ve decided to recast Duke for the new show, which is a bit of a shock, honestly.
Jamie Bell, known for his role in All of Us Strangers, has taken over the part of Duke, Tommy Shelby’s son. This makes him the third actor to play the character, after it was confirmed last month that the role had been recast.
I just read that Barry Keoghan, who was fantastic as the character in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man movie, won’t be back for the new series. Apparently, he’s decided not to reprise the role, according to Variety.

I’m really picky about the roles I take, honestly. But being part of Peaky Blinders was amazing, and making the movie was just incredible – a total highlight for me.
Keoghan explained that he approaches his work deliberately and thoughtfully, prioritizing personal enjoyment and growth. He wants to use filmmaking as a way to learn, create, and connect with others who share his passion and values.
