After the BAFTAs on Sunday, Aimee Lou Wood relaxed and enjoyed a fancy dinner with Kate Hudson and Emma Stone, taking off her heels for comfort.
The 32-year-old White Lotus actress carefully walked to her table at London’s Royal Festival Hall, still wearing her silver heels, and joined her boyfriend, Adam Long.
She looked beautiful in her light pink floral dress, walking barefoot while managing her shoes, a water bottle, and her phone.
Emma, 37, who was up for Best Actress, swapped her glamorous awards dress for a comfortable Louis Vuitton mini dress.
Despite losing to Jessie Buckley, Kate, 46, seemed cheerful and stayed in her red satin dress.
As a long-time supporter of sustainable practices, I was thrilled to see the BAFTAs continue their commitment to veganism! They promised to make this year’s ceremony kinder to the environment, and it was fantastic to hear guests enjoyed a delicious, mostly plant-based menu. It’s great to see such a prestigious event taking these steps!
The menu still includes some meat and dairy, but focuses mainly on fresh, seasonal vegetables. There are vegan appetizers and starters, a vegan entree choice, and about a third of the desserts are vegan-friendly.
A new PETA campaign features actor Alan Cumming, 61, playfully imitating a famous scene from the film The Wild One, originally starring Marlon Brando. The campaign, displayed on a large billboard near Royal Festival Hall, encourages people to reject leather and other animal skins, framing the choice as a way to be a ‘Rebel with a Cause’.
Enjoy the evening with tasty snacks like sweet roasted pumpkin rolls, savory mushroom toast with crispy sage, and crunchy sea salt crisp breads.
These were followed by a starter of celeriac and apple mille-feuille with chive oil and pumpkin.
Guests could choose between two main courses: truffle chicken served with a chicken and mushroom pie, roasted potatoes, and a Madeira sauce, or a vegetarian option featuring a caramelised leek and pumpkin pie with tarragon sauce.
Dessert was served on trays by ushers in specially designed, colourful cups, inspired by classic movie theater treats. Guests could choose from options like a popcorn sundae featuring chocolate mousse, toffee popcorn, whipped caramel, and white chocolate.
BAFTA revealed they had intended the menu ‘to be both indulgent and inclusive.’
The film ‘One Battle After Another’ was the major success at the 2026 British Academy Film Awards, winning six awards.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s acclaimed film had already earned a record-breaking 14 nominations, and ultimately won six awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing.
Jessie Buckley was named Best Actress for her performance in Hamnet, as many predicted. However, the awards ceremony still held some unexpected moments, with Timothée Chalamet losing the Best Actor award to a local talent.
Although many expected Timothée to win for his performance in Marty Supreme, Robert Aramayo, known for I Swear, ultimately received the award.
When ‘As One Battle For Another’ won Best Film, producer Sarah Murphy shared that they wished their colleague, Adam Somner, could have been there to accept the award in his hometown.
Paul Thomas Anderson, the director and producer, expressed his gratitude, saying it was a tremendous honor to receive such positive recognition for their film.
I know many other good movies have come out recently, and anyone who claims modern films are bad can disregard my opinion – it’s been a fantastic year for cinema.
He added that he planned to go and find a ‘bar somewhere to go celebrate.’
During the winner’s Press Conference, Paul Anderson reflected on working with Leonardo DiCaprio.
He described working with Leo as a continuous, flowing conversation. Once you begin collaborating, Leo immediately starts asking questions and showing genuine curiosity.
He likes to completely disassemble things, rebuild them, and carefully consider every potential outcome or situation.
Oh my gosh, this is the best gift ever! Working with him has been incredible because he’s so much more than just a face on screen. He’s a genuinely amazing writer, and honestly, I think his secret weapon is how deeply he understands his character and the whole story. It’s like he becomes the role, you know? It’s just… wow.
The night’s biggest disappointment was the ping pong drama Marty Supreme. Despite being a frontrunner with 11 nominations, it didn’t win any awards.
Jessie is considered a frontrunner to win the Best Actress Oscar, and she used her acceptance speech to express gratitude to the other nominees.
She expressed how honored she was, saying she never imagined as a child that she’d have the opportunity to make a film, but here she is living that dream.
I met with my agent, Lindy King, in London looking quite a mess – I had a terrible fake tan, large white hoop earrings, and a red polka dot skirt and top. Despite my appearance, I actually told her I hoped to become a successful actress like Judi Dench.
I truly can’t imagine how she ever thought that could happen. Thank you, Lindy, for always inspiring me to be curious, rebellious, and embrace my humanity.
I owe this to the women who have shown me better ways of doing things, and continue to inspire me.
While thanking her fellow nominees, Jessie accidentally left out Kate Hudson and jokingly asked the audience if she’d forgotten anyone.
She then added ‘I am in awe of all your incredible performances thank you.’
Maggie O’Farrell, thank you for giving the mother character a voice and placing her alongside the monumental figure of Shakespeare.
The audience and those at the event were shocked when Robert was named Best Actor for “I Swear,” unexpectedly winning over established stars Timothée and Leonardo DiCaprio.
When Robert’s son was recognized for his achievement, his father leaped up, excitedly shouting and jumping for joy when the announcement was made.
Standing on stage, Aramayo expressed his disbelief, saying, ‘It’s incredible! I can’t believe I’m here, let alone looking at all of you.’
He expressed his disbelief at winning the award, saying he was truly stunned and impressed by the other nominees. He felt everyone else in the category was exceptionally talented.
I remember when Ethan Hawke spoke at Juilliard while I was a student. He gave a really insightful talk about having a long career as an actor – focusing on taking care of yourself and avoiding harmful habits. It truly resonated with everyone there.
