Bachelor star Tara Pavlovic announces devastating split from husband after five years of marriage: ‘I don’t believe in love anymore’

Tara Pavlovic and her husband, Nick Shepherdson, have split up after five years of marriage.

The former The Bachelor star and mother-of-two made the sad announcement on social media on Monday.  

I wanted to address the recent rumors about my personal life directly. Nick and I have decided to separate,” the 36-year-old shared in a post on Instagram.

‘This hasn’t been a quick or easy decision,’ she continued. 

We’ve been dealing with this issue for a while now, and for a long time, I wasn’t sure how things would turn out.

‘But after a lot of thought, I’ve come to the decision that this is what’s best moving forward. 

The past eight months have been really tough, and I think it’s been obvious in my work that I’ve been struggling a lot.

‘There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes, and a lot I’ve been processing privately.

My children are, and always will be, the most important thing in my life, and all of my decisions have been made with their well-being in mind.

This is incredibly difficult, but I genuinely think it’s the right decision. They deserve a mother who is happy and fully engaged, and I’m finally starting to feel like myself again.

Tara explained that the end of her marriage had caused her a lot of stress, but she now felt a sense of calm and relief in her body.

She explained that it wasn’t until she began to feel peaceful that she understood the full impact of what had happened. She added that our bodies often recognize something is wrong before our minds do.

The reality TV personality stated she’s doing alright but won’t be discussing the reasons behind their breakup.

She explained that while people are curious, she’s choosing to keep certain details private to protect her children.

It’s tricky balancing my public job, where I share a lot of my life, with keeping some things private. I’m confident anyone who thinks about it will understand why I’m not sharing all the details of this situation.

‘My priorities here are the kids and making sure the co-parenting relationship is healthy for them.

I’m finally feeling like myself again, and I’m genuinely excited about the future for the first time in a while.

‘Do I believe in love anymore? Absolutely not. But I hope one day I will again.

‘Onwards and upwards! It’s time to dance in the rain,’ she concluded. 

Tara and Nick have two children, son Paddy, four, and daughter Edi-Rae, three. 

The couple got married in a small, private ceremony in September 2020. They had originally planned to wed in April, but had to delay their plans because of the pandemic.

The reality TV personality excitedly shared the news about Nick, and then jokingly mentioned they served McDonald’s at their wedding reception.

She shared a photo of their wedding rings with the caption, ‘I finally married my best friend yesterday, I love you Nick!’

Tara announced she was pregnant with her first child in October 2020, just one month after marrying Nick.

The couple first revealed they were dating in August 2018, shortly after news broke that Tara had ended her engagement with Sam Cochrane from Bachelor In Paradise.

The pair had known each other for 10 years before exploring a relationship together in 2018.

Tara rose to fame on Matty ‘J’ Johnson’s season of The Bachelor in 2017.
