Avowed’s director hopes for an expansion or sequel

Avowed made a strong impression on both players and critics following its Feb. 18 launch this year.

Carrie Patel, who is the game director for Avowed at Obsidian Entertainment, mentioned that they haven’t finalized the game’s future plans yet, but she’s eager to delve deeper into its world. In her conversation with Bloomberg, she expressed her desire by saying, “Given that we’ve now created this amazing world and also developed a strong team in terms of content and gameplay within this world, I’d be thrilled if we could further explore it.

The team at Obsidian seems poised and eagerly waiting for approval to create additional content within the game’s universe, though it hasn’t been officially confirmed as a DLC or sequel yet. This news certainly sparks enthusiasm among fans who are looking forward to more.

But The Outer World’s sequel could slow Avowed’ next chapter

Meanwhile, aside from working on Avowed, Obsidian Entertainment is also planning for the release of The Outer Worlds 2 in 2025. Given their current workload, it’s plausible that they might focus on completing The Outer Worlds 2 before adding more content to Avowed.
