A new Avatar is on the way.
At San Diego Comic-Con, Paramount+ released the very first trailer for Avatar: Seven Havens, offering fans a sneak peek at the newest installment in the popular Avatar story. The studio also announced when viewers can expect the animated series to premiere.
From the creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, comes Avatar: Seven Havens. This new animated series, with 26 episodes, picks up after the story of The Legend of Korra. It centers on Pavi, a young Earthbender who learns she’s the next Avatar – but unlike previous Avatars, people are afraid of her instead of welcoming her.
Okay, so things are seriously flipped in this new Avatar story. Instead of being a celebrated hero, the Avatar is now seen as a dangerous threat – even the one responsible for humanity’s problems! It’s a really interesting twist. Because of this, Pavi and her twin are on the run from everyone – both humans and all sorts of supernatural creatures – all while they’re desperately trying to protect these places called the Seven Havens. It sounds like a wild ride!
The first teaser for the new series gives viewers a look at its dark and serious world, a departure from what fans have seen in the Avatar universe before. It introduces Pavi and her twin sister, Nisha, who will be going on a perilous adventure to discover the source of Pavi’s abilities. The preview hints at some thrilling scenes that could change the Avatar franchise forever.
Paramount+ announced that Avatar: Seven Havens will debut worldwide on October 9, 2026, with all 26 episodes available immediately. This approach—releasing the entire season at once—is similar to what Netflix did with their live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender, letting viewers binge-watch the whole story without weekly delays.
Similar to previous Avatar movies and shows, Avatar: Seven Havens will have a large cast of characters. The series will star Saheli Khan as Pavi, Aishu Devan as Nisha, Akshay Khanna as Karthik, Major Curda as Jae, Sakina Jaffrey as Agam, Darren Barnet as Daemin, Dianne Doan as Zi, and Dee Bradley Baker will voice the characters Geet and Ruhi.
As a huge fan of Avatar, I’m so excited to hear Lauren Montgomery will be directing the new series! And it’s fantastic that Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are staying involved as executive producers, along with Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. It’s all being made by Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios – definitely a good sign for keeping the spirit of the original alive!
All 26 episodes of Avatar: Seven Havens will be released on October 9, 2026, on Paramount+.
