As a huge fan of the original Dirty Dancing – the one with Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze that came out in ’87 and is just a timeless romance – I was so excited when they announced a sequel back in 2020, with Jennifer Grey involved as both a star and producer. But honestly, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ever since. They initially aimed for a 2024 release, then pushed it to 2025, and now it feels like the whole project is stuck in limbo. It’s getting to the point where I’m starting to wonder if we’ll ever actually see a Dirty Dancing 2 happen.
