I’ve been following the performance of War Machine on Netflix, and it’s been quite a ride! As of April 5, 2026, it’s still hanging in there as the 9th most popular movie worldwide, according to FlixPatrol. Here in the US, it was doing really well, peaking at #5 until April 1st. But things changed quickly – it completely disappeared from the top 10 charts by April 2nd and hasn’t been back since. Globally, it’s not at the top in any country anymore, averaging a ranking of 7.5 with a high of #2 in Egypt. War Machine exploded onto the scene and quickly got over 100 million views, which was amazing, but it looks like its time in the spotlight might be fading.

As a huge movie fan, I’ve noticed something lately: so many horror films feel like they’re made to be franchises, rather than just good movies. It’s like the story itself comes second. But the truly great franchises? They started with a genuinely terrifying and well-told story, and then the sequels naturally followed. It’s a simple idea, but it makes all the difference.

For almost ten years, Chris Evans was Captain America, and it was incredibly reassuring for fans to see him pop up, even for a quick scene. It gave the Marvel Cinematic Universe this lovely sense of consistency. That’s something DC could really benefit from with David Corenswet as Superman. If they can make him a consistent, recognizable presence, it would instantly help the DC Universe feel more established and give Superman that same kind of staying power – a true franchise pillar. It’s a small thing, but it could make a huge difference in turning them into real rivals with Marvel.
