Aussie actress Tammin Sursok reveals heartbreaking details of her life-threatening miscarriage: 'I started to bleed heavily'

As a fervent admirer of Tammin Sursok, I can’t help but be moved by her raw and courageous sharing of her personal struggles with miscarriages. Her resilience and strength are truly inspiring, especially as she continues to build a beautiful family with Sean McEwen.

Tammin Sursok has revealed the harrowing details of one of her miscarriages in 2017.

41-year-old Australian actress, currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee, shared a distressing video on Instagram detailing a harrowing experience she encountered.

Currently, Tammin shares custody of two kids with her partner Sean McEwen. In 2016, she endured her initial miscarriage, but described the subsequent one from the following year as particularly difficult.

2017 marked the unfortunate incident of a miscarriage I experienced. During a regular check-up at week 13, I was informed that there was no sign of a developing fetal heartbeat, as Tammin opened her video.

Later on, she revealed several videos taken during her ultrasound appointments, one of which was captured on the day she learned that her unborn baby had unfortunately passed away.

‘I have some not great news for you,’ the medical practitioner said in the video before it cut out.

Tammin went on to say, ‘I began to experience heavy bleeding, which required immediate medical attention for the termination of my pregnancy.’

Without the swift intervention of my doctors and medical staff, I’m uncertain that I would have been able to fulfill my role as a mother to my two lovely daughters.

Afterward, the actress displayed footage of her spending time with her two daughters, Phoenix (aged 11) and Lennon (5), whom she has with her spouse Sean.

Amidst the joyful photos, there were also videos where Tammin was seen crying while sharing with her audience about her miscarriage.

In her captions, Tammi expressed that the current state of women’s healthcare in America is extremely alarming.

In 14 states such as Texas and Georgia, the government needs to determine the severity of one’s illness before providing necessary medical assistance.

‘A Texas mother died last week after waiting 40 hours for miscarriage care.’

Tammin added that approximately 30,000 additional women shared stories of their close encounters with death during the waiting period for medical treatment following a miscarriage.

The former Home and Away star has previously recalled a dream she had after her second miscarriage.

2021 saw her share an open Instagram post, disclosing that she experienced a vivid dream involving a baby, following the loss of her unborn child.

Following my heartbreaking second miscarriage, a strikingly lifelike dream unfolded for me. In this dream, I found myself cradling a tiny human being as if it were real.

She possessed rich, dark waves reminiscent of a raven’s feathers and large, warm brown eyes. I gently cradled her while softly saying, “Hello little one, I am your mother.

She continued: ‘When I finally got pregnant [with Phoenix], I found it hard to connect with my pregnancy. I was too afraid.

When they extracted her from my belly through a C-section and placed her on my chest, she resembled the baby I had seen in my dream.

In the course of speaking, Tammin emphasized that no matter what stage you’re at in your pregnancy or fertility process, remember that there is always a glimmer of hope, even when it may seem impossible.

She looks at her now and it’s clear that she was destined to be here. Her little girl with the big, brown eyes and raven hair – a dream of mine, indeed. This is how the sentence can be paraphrased in a natural and easy-to-read manner.

In January 2019, Tammin gave birth to her second girl, whom she named Lennon Bleu. Alongside husband Sean, she is also the mother of their shared daughter, Phoenix.
