Aubrey Plaza bares her burgeoning baby bump amid first pregnancy with Christopher Abbott

Pregnant Aubrey Plaza bared her growing baby bump while out and about in New York City on Tuesday.

Actress Keely Smith, 41, is pregnant with her first child, with actor Christopher Abbott, 40, over a year after the death of her husband, Jeff Baena, who died by suicide.

Plaza paired a white cropped tee with a beige coat and black athletic shorts.

The expectant mother paired her outfit with white knee-high socks and light purple New Balance sneakers, rolling up her sleeves to complete the look.

She showed off her bright red nails and put on black sunglasses to block out the sun.

Plaza was seen taking the subway, carrying a black woven leather bag and wearing a beige baseball cap.

This announcement follows her recent discussion of her pregnancy on the Smartless podcast, which aired on Monday.

I was so excited when she announced it on the podcast! She just kept repeating, ‘There’s a baby inside of me, right now!’ It was such a sweet and genuine moment with Jason, Will, and Sean.

Plaza shared that she and her dog both had doctor’s appointments today. They both needed scans – she had hers earlier, and her dog is getting one right now. She emphasized that she wasn’t joking about the situation.

She initially had an ultrasound, and then I had one too, which revealed we’re expecting a baby, she shared.

With her usual playful wit, she quipped, ‘It’s already got a disguise and a tiny hat – I think it’s ready to be born!’

When asked how she felt about becoming a mother for the first time, the Parks and Recreation actress simply said, ‘Yes, absolutely! I’ve always been curious about what motherhood is like.’

Plaza and Abbott were seen together publicly for the first time last week after announcing they’re expecting a baby.

The pair was photographed enjoying the opening night celebration of the Broadway show ‘Death of a Salesman’ at a party held at Katz’s Deli in New York City.

Prior to announcing their exciting baby update, they had kept their romance under wraps.

The pair previously collaborated in 2019 on the independent film Black Bear. They then worked together again on a stage revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, which played from October 2023 to January 2024.

Baena’s body was discovered in January 2025 after he took his life at age 47.

According to an autopsy report obtained by DailyMail.com, Plaza and the screenwriter had been living apart since September 2024.

She was living in New York when he was found in Los Angeles on January 3.

Last August, actress Aubrey Plaza discussed her experience with grief during an appearance on the podcast ‘Good Hang,’ hosted by her former ‘Parks and Recreation’ co-star, Amy Poehler.

I’m truly happy to be here with you right now. I’m doing okay and present in this moment.

I’m thankful for life and generally doing alright, though each day still presents challenges.
