Rebellion Developments has unveiled a fresh narrative addition titled “The Red Strain” for their sandbox survival game “Atomfall” due on September 16th. Details are scant, but gamers can anticipate an undisclosed “top-secret location.” You can watch the first teaser trailer below.
The newly discovered location houses an industrial facility, featuring unusual red vegetation, dubbed as the “red strain” origin by Rebellion. Stepping inside, it’s clear that this structure belongs to the organization known as C.O.R.E., who even have guard robots at their disposal. As usual, there are numerous mysteries to unravel, with further details to be disclosed in the upcoming weeks.
It’s uncertain if “The Red Strain” will come bundled with the Deluxe Edition, along with “Wicked Isle,” or be sold individually, so keep an eye out for updates. “Atomfall” is now playable on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and can also be found on Game Pass. Our review of it awards it a score of eight out of ten, appreciating its captivating setting, narrative, and world design, but noting that its stealth and combat mechanics felt somewhat awkward at times.
