Atomfall Announces DLC Release Date, But Price Raises Questions
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Atomfall, one of the surprise hits of 2025 thus far.
In our assessment, we expressed that Atomfall is a remarkable game that successfully delivers on its ambitious promises and scores many points.
Considering this, the announcement that its initial expansion, Wickled Isle, will be released on June 3rd, brings great joy.
The game, titled “Wicked Isle,” unfolds on Midsummer Island and draws inspiration from the genre known as folk horror. This intriguing adventure aims to delve deeper into this aspect of the storyline and generate fresh conclusions for the primary narrative of Atomfall, potentially offering multiple endings.
Speaking as a devoted fan, I’d put it this way: “Nestled near the Windscale Atom Plant, Midsummer sees higher rates of contamination among its people and surroundings compared to the mainland. This means you’ll encounter new adversaries – pirate bandits and tainted druids – and navigate through fresh challenges. But fret not! You’ll gain new abilities to help in your journey and even upgrade your metal detector, allowing you to unearth hidden treasures more efficiently.
Atomfall Wicked Isle’s Pricing Has Us Concerned

The proposed plotline and content seem fantastic, yet there’s one query that everyone seems to be asking: what is the price for this DLC?
Upon the release of Wicked Isle, it will retail for £14.99, €19.99, or $19.99. This is quite a hefty sum for a downloadable content (DLC) expansion that originally cost just $50. One might wonder if this DLC’s price point is justified. Atomfall provided a substantial amount of content at its initial $50 price, but it raises the question: Will spending almost half that on an expansion deliver similar value?
As a gamer, I’d say: Spending an extra five bucks on the Atomfall Deluxe Upgrade seems like a smart move. In addition to the Wicked Isle expansion, you’ll also receive the “Basic Supply Bundle” and “Enhanced Supply Bundle.” However, there’s a bit of ambiguity regarding its release date. The Steam disclaimer suggests it won’t be available on Day 1, but it’s not clear if that means June 3rd or the game’s launch day. Furthermore, there’s uncertainty about whether this DLC will be accessible through Game Pass as well.
