GRYPHLINE has launched the major ‘Homecoming’ update (version 1.4) for Arknights: Endfield. This update finishes the Wuling story arc and adds new chapters, characters to play as, areas to explore, improvements to how you manage resources, special rewards celebrating the anniversary, and other exciting content. Here’s a breakdown of everything included in version 1.4.

Homecoming concludes the Wuling storyline with two new regions

I’m so excited! Version 1.4 wraps up the Wuling storyline, and we finally get to go back and try to take back our homeland! It’s been ten years since the Wuling Science Station was destroyed by that massive Rift, and now, thanks to improvements to the Xiranite Nexus, we can finally contain the Blight. We’re teaming up with Arcane and the people of Wuling to reclaim this region that we lost so long ago. It’s going to be epic!

Moreover, the update introduces two new story areas:

  • Yinglung Pass: This serves as the entrance to the sealed Wuling territory, where you’ll meet the mysterious Feranmut Proxy, Si, who helps guide the final enhancement of the Xiranite Nexus.
  • North Wuling Exclusion Zone: The ruined homeland is now covered in dangerous Blight Miasma. Here, you can clear corrupted areas, suppress the Blight, and create a safe path for returning citizens.

Besides the new regions, the update also introduces:

  • Personal Device equipment for exploration.
  • New Blightshade enemies.
  • New bosses like Alleikhreos and Chiliarch feature unique battle mechanics that require interrupting specific attacks.

Arknights: Endfield Version 1.4 update: New Operators

So, Version 1.4 also brings two new playable characters, and they’re as follows:

1. Arknights: Endfield New Operator: Arcane

Arcane is now available as a playable character, following her important role in the Wuling story. This new 6-Star Operator leads the Yinglung Special Task Force and is the first caster with a unique battle style. Her combat abilities change based on how you balance her Intellect and Will stats.

Array Arcana: INT focuses on using skills often, dealing damage to multiple enemies at once, and applying weakening effects. Meanwhile, Array Arcana: WILL excels at gathering enemies together, inflicting powerful negative status effects, and building up Arts charge.

2. Arknights: Endfield New Operator: Liino

Liino, nicknamed the Morning Star of La Fantoma, is a powerful 6-Star Operator who provides Electric-type support. She can switch between two modes – Vocalist and Cosmovoice – to offer consistent healing, boost allies’ attack power, and help create powerful attack combos. This makes her a versatile asset to many different teams.

Industrial gameplay expands with new AIC systems

One of the most significant changes in Version 1.4 is a big improvement to how items are made in the game. We’ve added Gas as a new type of material, joining Solids and Liquids. This means you can now:

  • Produce gaseous materials.
  • Convert between gas, liquid, and solid resources.
  • Unlock new production lines.
  • Build new machinery.
  • Discover additional technologies.

This update adds several new resources, including Inergen, Xiragen, and Pyrrolite Components. It also introduces the Xiranflow Cloudseeder Station, a new industrial facility that improves logistics.

Arknights: Endfield Version 1.4 brings new permanent activities and gameplay modes

Arknights: Endfield’s update 1.4 includes the most content the game has ever offered.

  • Echoes of War: This new permanent seasonal mode features rotating combat stages, three difficulty levels, seasonal ratings, and exclusive seasonal titles. You can earn all Oroberyl rewards through Normal difficulty, while higher difficulties provide extra prestige rewards.
  • HEAT RAGE! MEGA ARENA!: You can take part in this fun combat activity built around unusual two-Operator team combinations.
  • The Rooted Realm: This one’s a timed exploration mode that offers hidden paths, secret combat rooms, and collection objectives.

The update also features new challenges for Umbral Monuments and six puzzle maps called Delver of the Cryptic.

Arknights: Endfield Version 1.4 adds plenty of player-friendly improvements

The team has made a number of improvements to enhance gameplay. Some key changes are:

  • Early unlock access to Wuling for newer players.
  • Fully refined Arsenal Defense Crates from Operator Trials.
  • Faster equipment manufacturing.
  • Expanded Photo Mode.
  • Remote retrieval for outdoor equipment.
  • Preserved conduit connections in blueprints.
  • More combat customization options.
  • Better targeting controls.
  • Graphics support for DLSS 4.5, PSSR2, and FSR 3.
