Apple’s 10/10 Sci-Fi Series Is 1 of the Most-Watched Shows in the US After Prime Video Takeover

Earlier this year, Apple and Amazon teamed up in the U.S. They announced the partnership on April 10th, and since then, Apple’s movies and shows have been gradually added to Prime Video as an extra option.

Apple TV+’s hit sci-fi series, Silo, is now gaining popularity with Prime Video viewers. According to data from FlixPatrol, it’s currently the 6th most-watched show on Prime Video in the US. The series recently reached the top spot worldwide, and continues to rank as number one globally. Silo‘s popularity is still going strong.

Silo Has One More Season to Go

As a huge fan of the show, I have to say the final two episodes of Season 3 are some of the best I’ve ever seen – seriously, they really got to me emotionally. And then, Apple added this incredible two-minute teaser at the very end hinting at Season 4. It’s a really powerful moment, and honestly, it left me wanting more immediately!

Silo’s Third Season Breaks Away From the Book Series

The Apple TV series Silo is adapted from a post-apocalyptic book trilogy – Wool, Shift, and Dust – by Hugh Howey. The show’s first two seasons closely followed the plots of these books.

The show is set in a bleak future where humanity lives inside a massive underground silo with 144 levels. When residents start mysteriously dying, an engineer named Juliette begins to investigate and uncovers hidden truths about the silo itself. Season three picks up after Juliette has her memory erased through a procedure called “cleaning.” The story unfolds across two timelines – one in the present within the silo, and another showing flashbacks to life before it existed. Interestingly, the books tell this backstory from a different perspective, without focusing on Juliette at all.

Since Rebecca Ferguson’s image was used in promotional materials, the show couldn’t go an entire season without featuring her character, so they developed a new storyline for Juliette instead, according to Yost.

Season 3 has sparked a lot of debate among viewers. Although critics loved it – giving it a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes – the audience reaction has been much more mixed, with a score of just 56%. This is significantly lower than the ratings for earlier seasons.

Silo is streaming on Apple TV or Prime Video with the Apple TV add-on.
