Ant McPartlin and his wife, Anne-Marie Corbett, shared a kiss while celebrating Newcastle’s victory at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. His co-star Declan Donnelly and his wife, Ali Astall, joined them in the celebrations.
A pair from Newcastle, along with their partners, had a fun night out at the Chelsea game in London, where Newcastle won with a score of 1-0.
Fifty-year-old Ant, a football enthusiast, excitedly kissed someone as his team scored, celebrating with Anne-Marie, who was bundled up in a warm, brown coat.
The two seemed happy and relaxed alongside their co-host Dec, also 50, and Ali, 47, who got married in 2015.
Everyone in the group was cheering and clapping when the game finished, and then they left the stands.
This follows a recent incident where Ant McPartlin was playfully called out by his close friend, Declan Donnelly, for revealing private details about his relationship with his wife, Anne-Marie.
While talking about Harry Styles’ latest album, ‘Kiss All The Time Disco Occasionally,’ Ant surprised Dec by sharing something unexpected.
Ant mentioned on their podcast, ‘Hanging Out,’ last Thursday that they enjoy kissing – a theme reflected in the title of their new album. They clarified that this affection is reserved for their wife, and they aren’t kissing many different people.
Dec made a face and frowned at the camera after the comment, then turned to Ant and jokingly said, ‘I thought you were going to surprise us there!’
Ant continued, sharing his enthusiasm for kissing and suggesting it improves with age. He then noticed his friend’s uncomfortable expression and asked what was wrong.
‘I find this a bit icky. Just keep it for the bedroom,’ Dec said.
Ant McPartlin married Anne-Marie Corbett, who previously worked as an assistant for his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong, in August 2021. The wedding took place at St Michael’s Church in Heckfield, Hampshire.
He expressed his fondness for kissing, saying people should kiss more often. He emphasized it wasn’t a personal request, but a general observation about how wonderful kissing is. He repeatedly questioned if anyone else agreed, highlighting how much he enjoys it.
‘Think of the first kiss you ever had, and the kisses got better as you got older. It’s great.’
Dec advised keeping whatever ‘it’ is confined to the kitchen or similar private space, and not sharing it publicly.
‘Kissing?!’ Ant said in shock, as Dec added: ‘It’s a bit icky.’
This followed their explanation of why they won’t host the BRIT Awards anymore, and their suggestion of a disagreement with Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
Ant and Dec have presented the awards show three times – in 2001, 2015, and 2016 – but they aren’t interested in hosting it again.
I heard Ant talking on their podcast, and it sounds like they’ve decided not to host events anymore. Apparently, it’s just become too difficult because people mostly just want to party and get drunk, and that makes it hard to manage things. It’s a shame, but I totally understand where they’re coming from.
He explained that as a show host, you’re usually told celebrities will agree to be interviewed during the broadcast, but they often back out at the last minute, right before the show goes live.
Dec specifically mentioned Coldplay as an example, joking that it sparked a long-running playful rivalry between Ant and Chris Martin.
Dec asked Ant about hosting this Saturday’s BRIT Awards. Ant jokingly replied, ‘No, I’m not – are you? Three times… never again!’
Ant continued: ‘I should never say never, because it’s, a weird thing to host.’
Ant explained that hosting the awards isn’t as enjoyable as being a nominee. He said that while it’s a fun night for those nominated, hosting means everyone just wants to party and get drunk.
It’s tough because you’re managing the entire audience, hosting the show, and dealing with artists and bands who promised interviews beforehand but then back out at the last minute.
You’ll be told Coldplay will interview you during the show, and you’ll be excited about it. But then, just before going live, you’ll find out Coldplay actually don’t want to do an interview beforehand.
Declan Donnelly started to explain a disagreement between Ant McPartlin and Chris Martin, but Ant quickly interrupted, stating he wasn’t holding a grudge.
