Anne Hathaway and her co-star, Michaela Coel, went to a screening of the film Mother Mary on Thursday, despite both having very busy schedules.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I always love seeing celebrities shine, and I spotted the amazing actress, 43, looking radiant on the red carpet! It was just the day after the London premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2, and she seemed to be having a wonderful time.
Anne and her co-star Michaela, 38, burst into laughter while posing for photos at a screening of Mother Mary held at Picturehouse Central.
The actress, known for her role in The Princess Diaries, looked stunning in a black gown featuring a see-through panel in the bodice, eye-catching sleeves, and a flowing, pleated skirt.
The actress styled her dark hair in a half-updo with waves and finished the look with gold hoop earrings.
Michaela looked stunning in a long, grey, strapless top with tassels, which she wore with sleek black trousers.
The actor from Black Earth Rising put his arm around Anne while they posed for a photo, and then they playfully made silly faces at each other.
Old hurts resurface when pop superstar Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway) reconnects with her longtime best friend and former costume designer, Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel), right before a major comeback concert.
This sighting happened shortly after Anne Hathaway walked the red carpet for the premiere of Devil Wears Prada 2 alongside her castmates Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep, and Stanley Tucci.
The movie revisits the competitive world of high fashion, but with a fresh, contemporary take.
The story hints that Miranda Priestly is struggling with the falling popularity of magazines and newspapers, all while competing with Emily (Blunt), who now holds significant power over important advertising accounts.
The new movie will feature several new actors, such as Justin Theroux, Kenneth Branagh, and Lucy Liu.
The movie was filmed in both New York and Milan, and early sneak peeks have already excited fans.
The film The Devil Wears Prada was a huge success, but it became more than that – it truly impacted popular culture. Meryl Streep’s portrayal of Miranda Priestly became instantly famous, and the movie inspired a whole generation to become passionate about fashion, even just quoting her famous line, ‘That’s all’.
First reviews for The Devil Wears Prada 2 are in, and critics are saying it’s fantastic! One reviewer advised fans to ‘prepare yourselves’ because the movie is truly exceptional.
The movie premiered in the US on Monday, and early reviews from critics are starting to appear.
Although official reviews aren’t available until April 29th, early reactions on social media are spreading quickly and are very positive.
Okay, so Alex Weprin from The Hollywood Reporter just tweeted something AMAZING about the movie! He said it’s basically a super-sharp, hilarious takedown of the media, but all dressed up in gorgeous fashion. And get this – he thinks every journalist who sees it is going to be mortified because they’ll see themselves in it! I’m already dying to see it – it sounds absolutely perfect!
Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m seriously losing it! Variety’s Jazz Tangcay just confirmed it – the devil is BACK, and better than ever! She said ‘#thedevilwearsprada2’ is absolutely phenomenal – the perfect sequel! I mean, exceeded all expectations?! I knew it would be good, but this sounds… incredible. I’m already prepping myself, because apparently, we need to ‘gird our loins’! I can’t even breathe, I’m so excited!
Aline Brosh McKenna wrote a really clever and funny script – it’s full of memorable lines. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt are all fantastic, as expected. The costumes were beautiful, and the music is amazing! Lady Gaga was incredible. Absolutely loved it and it was worth the wait. Highly recommend!
The sequel introduces several new cast members, including Lady Gaga, who makes a cameo appearance. She also contributed to the film’s soundtrack by writing and performing the song “Runway” with rapper Doechii.
I’m so excited about the amazing cast in this project! You’ll spot some familiar faces popping up – Donatella Versace, Ciara, and Ashley Graham all make appearances. Plus, Justin Theroux plays Emily’s boyfriend, Benji, and Kenneth Branagh takes on the role of Miranda’s husband. And a special shoutout to Simone Ashley, who’s fantastic as Miranda’s assistant!
There have been some victims of the edit though as Sydney Sweeney has had her cameo cut.
The actress appeared as herself in a short, three-minute scene where she received a makeover from Emily Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton.
Entertainment Weekly reports that a scene featuring Sydney was originally planned for early in the film, but it was ultimately cut because it didn’t fit the overall story structure.
People first found out she was in the movie when she was seen arriving at the film set in New York City back in August.
The sequel to the 2006 film will center around Miranda Priestly as she prepares to retire. She reconnects with Andy Sachs, but finds herself in conflict with her former assistant, now a competitor, Emily Charlton.
Sydney was removed from the movie after public attention turned to her family’s political beliefs, creating a controversial situation.
