Andrew Garfield responds to We Live in Time’s viral horse meme
As a long-time admirer of Andrew Garfield‘s acting prowess, it’s always a delight to see him take on challenging roles that push the boundaries of storytelling. The upcoming film “We Live in Time” certainly falls into that category, with its poignant portrayal of love and loss in the face of adversity.
Andrew Garfield acknowledges the obvious issue with the movie “We Live in Time,” which can also be described as the unsightly beast among the merry-go-round horses.
In Garfield’s latest movie, he and Florence Pugh portray a pair who receive a life-altering cancer diagnosis, causing significant disruption in their relationship.

In a humorous twist, the goofy expression on the horse, along with its strategic positioning within the photograph’s composition, gave an impression that it was crashing or ruining an otherwise adorable picture. It turned out that this unintentional photo bombing act of the horse became quite popular and was frequently used as a template for internet memes.
As I walked the red carpet for an interview with Canada’s own ETalk, I was asked about that viral meme floating around. With a chuckle, I expressed my gratitude for the joke, saying it played a role in getting the movie on everyone’s radar.
He expressed his gratitude for reminding him about the horse. It had been a while since they last communicated, but he was hoping to see him at the event because, without him, they would essentially be incomplete.
“Yeah, no-one would be aware of this film if it wasn’t for that f**king horse.”
After its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, the movie is scheduled for screening over three days during the BFI London Film Festival next month. It will then have a wide release starting on New Year’s Day.
In this movie, Florence Pugh chose to shave her head at the director’s request, because he suggested she could use a wig, but she felt she couldn’t convincingly play her role without doing so.
As a passionate gamer, I interrupted him right there and exclaimed, “John, no one can embody a character in a game like this without executing the essential actions, and if you’re unwilling to take on those tasks, then perhaps this isn’t the story for you.
We Live in Time will be released on January 1, 2025.
